Old wives’ tale.

There’s a Chinese old wives’ tale (or so I’d like to call it one) describing the circumstances when your eyelids annoyingly jump. If your left eyelid jumps, it means something good is about to happen. If the right eyelid jumps, it means something terrible is going to happen. I no longer believe in this tale.

My left eyelid has been madly jumping for the past 2 weeks or so. I’m assuming that if the tale is correct, I’d either win the jackpot in the lottery or something really really excitingly good that will make me want to wet my pants will happen. So far whilst I’ve been having a “good” time in the respect that nothing really bad is happening, the things that could go wrong all went impossibly and horribly wrong. Sure, it’s annoying, but I haven’t felt this down in a course of several months. Is this meant to be good? No? THEN STOP JUMPING YOU STUPID EYELID.

Today I met up with A who just came back from overseas and we had sushi train at UMI, opposite Capitol Theatre. I’m always 50/50 with UMI. I like their interiors and their food is undeniably fresh since you literally watch it being made before it’s served to you, but I personally think it’s pricey. Sushi isn’t really that big (not even the rice bit, and heck, it’s just rice). I paid $16 for 4 plates and a hot tea. It’s alrightish. It’s not the first time I’ve been to UMI anyway, so I knew what to expect.

J then came along and we all decided to just go for 3 hours of karaoke. We sang – and sang Britney Spears’ Womanizer and along with some other songs. We had good fun :) The karaoke system now tells you when the last 10 minutes are so you’re prepared to pick your last 2 favourite songs. We got a MASSIVE room between the 3 of us – it was like a 20 person room, and we got it since they ran out of the smaller ones >:3

I met up with C and R again and I feel crappy for accepting their retail therapy present for me because I was feeling so crappy >_< But on the other hand I get a Domo tote :D Thank you <3 Guys, Pig Rabbit’s coming in tomorrow – it’s all yours free of charge D: I owe you guys wayyy too much money XD;;

We had dinner at Ajisen Ramen which was better than the last time I went. To be honest my noodles smelled a bit funny though. This is the one opposite Market City, by the way, if it makes any difference. Apaprently the one at World Square is better (and I’ve been there before, it’s quite nice). But oh well, comfort food = comfort food. Even if you put another horrible Greek salad in front of me, I’d eat it. Because I need comfort food >_>

Crappy blogging is crappy.

Sorry, this is a really crappy post and it just sounds like a methodical recount of the day but without any emotions. Actually, probably if you stabbed me in the arm I wouldn’t even feel it. I was desensitised for most of the day :\ Today has been on 2 extremes – really really crap, to relief. If you do not prod me, I’ll be fine. Give me a little bit of time. But to get over my hurdles I really have to face them face to face, really. I think I’ll be okay. And thank you to all you guys for making my day much much shorter. If I didn’t go out and see you guys, today would have been one of the longest days I’d have to go through on my own.

I promise that when my Gmarket arrives tomorrow I’ll be back and being giddy and bubbly.

And that blasted left eyelid of mine is still jumping. My Gmarket parcel had better freaking include a 24 carat lump of gold worth 1kg or something for my eyelid to jump this crazy. Ugh.

Lots of love,
Misa

Omg yay fun

… just got out of the shower and I feel like I scrubbed off like 200g of dirt >_> Today was really warm and gross… zomg is all I can say to describe the day.

Firstly though, a shoutout to R who took this awesome photo:

If you’re wondering why I’m featuring this photo, it’s because I designed that logo :P \o/ I’m stoked it got printed on balloons – I hope the best for the new love birds :)

I should be designing the one for C and R lol. I have the concept already! I just haven’t started. I still need to start on the competition entry D: Hahaha DOH. I need to manage my time well, or else I won’t get any graphic work done, and I’ll be doing Taeyang’s Wedding Dress dance next time I see you guys :( Better get a move on!

—–

Oh – and today is the Mardi Gras :) I thought it was last night since I heard loud music, but I guess not, lol. Those were the preliminary celebrations XD Interestingly enough, the Mardi Gras itself is nowhere as loud as the stuff I heard last night lol.

I finally opened my Instax film because I had to return the favour of 3 packs, and this is what it looked like:

Film, glorious film! 100 shots/ 10 packs of 10 neatly lined up.

Damn, that looks so neat. And seeing that I’m loaded with film, I better use it all. I have another 100 coming in the mail. And look, Domo sticker in the background.

Speaking of which, although the Aust Post tracking website was down this morning, I checked and my package has cleared customs and is being scheduled for delivery. I GET MY STUFF ON MONDAY. YAY!

Today started off with shopping. Lots of it D: I showed C and R the Domos that Morning Glory had and OMG – they took more of the Domos out! I swear they hid them! But they got lots of stock with even smaller ones at the Market City branch – DAMN IT. But I’m pretty content with what I bought :3 C and R got L a large poo for his birthday! TANJOUBI OMEDETOU! And they also got a large Domo, which sat in the back seat. I did its seat belt religiously :3

And I must say the mix headphones R got are pretty mad. Now I know like 3 people who own them though lol – I won’t be getting them for myself. Not really a headphones person.

The damage has clearly been done. I say no spending and I come home with 3 Domos. But he’s soooo kawaii! How can I resist?

I bought a pink musical note necklace (which I wore flipped half the day ._.  But nobody seemed to notice lol, until I realised ;__; ) for just 5 dorra at a Dixon Street stall. It’s actually quite well made even though it’s made out of some sort of wood I suspect. I hooked lil Domo on, and voila. L took a shot of the “customised” necklace, so I’ll be waiting on that shot to be processed lol. I actually really quite like the music note (actually I’ll like anything – just not the foot – sorry guys ._. I’m just really sensitive about feet lol) – looking at it makes me want to sing lollilollilollipop~

And the box of nail stuff is from C! It’s another “birthday present” surprise for me lol – thank you so much! I’m so stoked! Now I can glue hearts and stuff :D I’ll definitely be using it for more elaborate designs. CAN’T WAIT!

Nails of the week. And macro shot is really macro. Yuck. I swear they’re better in real life.

Another really dead simple design. Blue Konad polish with black Konad special polish Konad stamps from the m8 template. When I get my stuff on Monday, HO YEAH. I’m gonna go more pro with this hopefully. Seems like whenever we have a street themed shoot I always use blue polish lol.

The waitress at ROLL+ commented on C’s awesome Domo nails and how we both did ours up while she didn’t lol. She’s so cute XD

Today I wore my zipia Selvage gradation jeans with the rips. I’ve gotten used to the rips and I quite like them now. They don’t look as silly as I originally thought they did (since gradation makes it look a bit strange – almost like a grey kitten with white paws >_>) but they’re growing on me. They’re comfy, not as large as the other jeans I have (they actually fit snug, though they’re loosening around my hips) but they’re good quality and they look quite unique. Will definitely keep wearing them.

Went to pick up L and C and then met up with M and I. AWESOMESAUCE MUCH.

Again credits to ACSRAD photography, http://acsrad.tumblr.com/post/415246341

You can’t see me properly anyway (that’s the only reason why I put it up without censoring LOL), but I’m the one on the far left. I like my jeans. And shoes. And surprisingly the tee came out alright. I can vaguely spot Mr Domo necklace >:3 BOOYEAH. Fish eye lens is awesome. This photo is just SO AWESOME.

I’m not going to put up all my photos from today. I’ve scanned them all, but I prefer not to post them up. Besides, you guys can, as M would say, “molest my photo album” the next time you see me ;) Unless the album fills up and then I have to bring a blank album lol. ;) Nah, I’ll put them up on Facebook. I might upload them to tumblr later.

I really liked how these two in particular turned out. Even though the one on the right is too bright to see the details, it actually proved that my macro lens actually work.

Today I took 2 instaxes of myself with Mr Seat Belt Domo, my nephew, and seventeen shots at the shooting location.

HOLY COW. I took 21 shots today! Over TWO packs of film. Dang there goes like $16 worth of shots LOL.

After that was Max Brenner cookie shake time and probably one of the worst Greek salads known to mankind LOL. Nah it wasn’t that bad, but everything in it was bitter Dx This is why you do not order the first thing you see when you open up a menu and find something to order ROFL.

But today I really had some awesome fun. Thanks so much to C and R for driving me all the way back home! I feel so bad >_<

AND HOPEFULLY NEXT TIME I SEE YOU GUYS I WON’T BE DOING THE WEDDING DRESS DANCE D:

… it was a mistake to learn those like, 5 steps LOL. But seriously, fingers crossed.

And peace out – I love y’all for being so awesome ;__;

Until next epic excursion blog!

Out with the old, in with the new.

Seriously, I had oodles of fun yesterday but I woke up this morning with sore legs and arms OTL

Today my phone contract expires/d. \o/ YES!

I was so sick of paying a handset fee for my Sony Ericsson. Whilst it was a neat looking phone, and there are some reasons why I wouldn’t change it (*queue in evil smirk here*), I think it’s time to change it. I just realised how tattered it was (dropping it here and there – I also threw my phone a few times in anger during those rough times in such a thing called a relationship) – not to mention it was constantly screwing up on me. It was no longer reliable. The sound quality however is excellent, battery life too. It’s just a really nice phone, had I had a better 2009 and less software bugs.

After looking for a long time (and briefly browsing on the website before I left home), I was surprised that the amount of phones on offer were very limited. But at the same time, a few Online Only offers were actually available in store! I’m really not a phone person. I’m not really interested in phones, and I only have an interest when I need to get a new one. OR IF IT’S A SOFTBANK WE’RE TALKING ABOUT! :D :D :D :D

Asking the dealer for a recommendation, she recommended me the Samsung Jet Icon aka S8300. Luckily I asked, else I would have ended up with a year old Nokia model or something. Eesh. But anyway, the phone is prettier in real life than on the website photos. I’m a Samsung user myself (forked out my first $500 on a Samsung phone when I was still in high school, in the later years of Year 11), but the phone battery life is of such exceptional quality and the looks were so fine. In fact, it still works perfectly to this day (my mum uses it – when she rarely needs to contact me). My beef with Samsung is the poor sound quality when you talk to someone on the phone. It was like that with my first Samsung phone, and it apparently is still a similar story as I heard from my friend A, who bought a Samsung sometime during last year (I saw that on display and I didn’t go for it since it’s an older model anyway- though the pink is extremely cute). FINGERS CROSSED IT’S NOT THE CASE FOR THIS ONE.

It was previously free on a $69 cap, but I can get it free on a $29 cap, and it’s a new addition to the $29 cap pool. This will suffice. So far I haven’t experienced any lagging (since it’s a touch screen). The interface and buttons are quite intuitive (I like how there’s a scroll button on the side), and the camera is a glorious 5 megapixels with even a flash. I mean, that’s ridiculously good for a free phone okay. The beef I have so far with this is the stupid widgets bar – I just pressed a widget to see what would happen and what it did was glue it to my background -_- No amounts of pressing the “DAME!!” button would get rid of that junk, and to make things worse a weird search bar popped up and wouldn’t disappear. Why can’t these things have little x’s at the top right hand corner like Windows (or top left as a Mac) to close these damn things? I had to reset my phone because of it. It was infuriating because the manual tells me to shake the phone and the widget will drop back to the bar. UHHH NUHH. DIDUN HAPPEN.

Another thing that annoys me is the screen. It’s a fingerprint magnet and it’s a beetch to clean. I put this in my bag with another object (which had sticky tape on it) and the sticky tape icky glue got onto the screen. WTFSAUCE – I only left it there for like 10 minutes! Some Magic Cleaner spray I got from the previous Gmarket haul got rid of most of the ickiness, but I used my sunglasses cleaner to get rid of it and now it’s back to normal. GRAR.

I need a crystal hard case for this. Because the case they provide sucks.

Otherwise the phone comes with a gig of phone memory and it accepts SD cards. Too bad the SE used an M2 card and not a MiniSD. Can’t use it.

Oh, and I’m not a fan of the ugly button in the centre. It actually doesn’t really do anything. Probably more  useful for like music playing applications or something.

Sorry SE – but you need to retire. It looks like the SE is the bad one while the Samsung is the good one. And YO, I’M USING A GU JUN PYO-ISH PHONE – LOLOLOLOL.

I could only get the phone in white (black phased out), but it still looks nice. It just only sucks because all my technology thingies are black. BUT WAIT- WHITE MATCHES INSTAX!

The phone came in a really sexy box though. And the extras like the headphones were really pretty too. Too bad I don’t use them.

Anyway, the new phone has a whole shizzload of cool features (that most likely you have to pay for, like the GPS), but I’m not gonna go through them all. I honestly don’t use my phone often enough to care. I really wanted a phone with a QWERTY keyboard though, because I really hate typing SMSes (sorry to those who have to read my horribly typed SMSes – I have little to no patience when it comes to those).

So far I like the phone even though it has been stressful (yes, stressful, because I woke up being irritable). Just wait until I like, make a phone call or something. I might get very angry then if the sound is craptastic. But I still have my old phone, so that will work if I need it.

Oh and I can change the back cover and stuff lol – that’s the fun part. Anyway.

That’s just the highlight of my day so far. I’m going to shake off these muscle pains and looking forward to tomorrow :D

Badda-boom, contemplation for streetwear fashion.

Until next blog! Most likely tomorrow night. If not later this afternoon, if I really have something to yak on about.

Oh my tiredness.

Gyah, I’m kinda tired >_> And it’s not really because of stamina or anything – it was mostly just walking and standing. I’m fine, nowhere as tired as photoshoot days lol, but yeah, considering I haven’t been active lately (physically), it makes a bit of a difference :(

The day started off with – actually, I don’t know what it started off with lol. My friend came over to give me my SJS manpron – YES SJS MANPRON!!!! and I left the house with him since I needed to mail a letter. After that seeing that we both hadn’t had lunch and had nothing to do, we both decided to just head out.

We went to Mizuya – just because I thought the interior was nice and all. This time we got a table without a view of the lit sakura tree (sadness succumbs), and we got a sushi set, gyoza set and takoyaki. Free icecream ftw!

You know the pool place at Dixon No 1? They apparently charge $16/ hour. We didn’t quite go there because there was no way we’d play like 8 games of pool in an hour. So we decided to just go to Cheers on George Street, which is usually where we play pool. So then came the pool (we played two games – we both lost the game we paid for ourselves :P So 1-1) and the basketball.

So on our way back up to Cheers, we went to Zakka House in the Sussex Centre (apparently my friend hasn’t been there so I just took him there) and ZOMG – GOLD MINE. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN 8D! We also walked past the Morning Glory and the $35, and two $50 Domo-kuns GOT SOLD! They now have a rather large one (slightly bigger than the $50 one) for $70, and the HUGE one for $320!~ OMG! IT’S HUGE! I’m sad they sold so quickly though lol :( Sigh.

Then we basketball’ed at Prize Paradise. OMG! Fail compared to last time lol. I only got in the 60s ;_; It’s mostly to do with the fact that I didn’t try (I didn’t want to bend my legs or jump like I did last time – it was also because I was wearing Havaianas, which didn’t help – but hey, don’t forget I was randomly pulled into the city lol, I thought I was going home – last time when I bent my legs and jumped, I kinda overstrained my left calf muscle OTL nooooob) and that all the balls I threw bounced off the hoop. GYAH. Also my friend couldn’t quite manage to make it to the the 150 points required to get to stage 3. Oh well.

We saw a guy who got over400 points! What he did was use his left hand to scoop the ball into his right hand, and throw all the balls with his right hand only. That way he threw realllly quickly. And a tip – if the balls get stuck (ie. they don’t fall down), you have a random ball and you chuck it at the other balls and they’ll fall! He was doing that so that the balls would fall down quicker. He rested for less than 5 minutes and went at it again! Damn, that guy has skill. And we both thought it was impossible unless there were two people shooting lol. Btw, there’s a stage 4 for basketball – OMG! He got to stage 4.

Now I have to just thank B for being awesome at basketball – it was the only reason why I even got to stage 3, cuz we were using team scores (aka HIS score lolol) OTL I suck LOL. If I didn’t get to stage 3, no way would I have gotten a good score :(

AND THEY HAVE LIKE 20CM TALL DOMOS IN THE MACHINES AT PRIZE PARADISE – OMG – TEMPTING MUCH?!

I have no luck at PP so I didn’t want to try lol. One day my dear Domo, one day. Speaking of which, I wore my Domo tee today 8D

We then ended the day at Kinokuniya where half of the Aronzi Aronzo goods were GONE! I WANTED A TSHIRT! DAMN. I should have got them when I first saw them. The stuff they have is soooo cute. I casually flicked through one of the craft books for baby goods (it teaches you to make a cute blanket, dream catcher and even nappies with animal faces on them lololol) *cringe* It’ll be another 10 years till I actually have kids lol.

Anyway, I’m stopping myself from spending money lol. I saw this reallllllly cute jacket at the stall C buys from usually (you know which one I mean), but I didn’t have the balls to go look at the price because (1) it looked woolly so it’s probably too warm (2) it looked a bit small for me (broad shoulders suck) (3) I didn’t want to spend money ._. BUT OMG I WANT. ;__; I bet someone already bought it T___T SIGH.

Onto other brighter things, Mr Pig Rabbit has left Incheon Airport as of this afternoon! It’ll be in Sydney tomorrow morning :D I don’t think I’ll get the parcel on Saturday (Aus Post rarely delivers on a Saturday >_> actually, they rarely deliver, full stop – but if they do, it’ll be like 11am, because I live close to their headquarters, and I will get it early). But if I do, OMG YAY? Too bad I don’t get it tomorrow, else I could use the templates. I’m excited about those. But yeah, I recommend y’all just buy them from Chatswood lol – I only got them from Gmarket cuz I thought “hey I need to order film” ._. It’s really just about the same price OTL I’m a dumbass. Lol. (It would have been better to go to Chatswood too – I haven’t been and I should explore their shops >_< DOH!)

What’s even dumber I left the house without my Instax because I didn’t expect to find myself in the city. GYAH! Photo taking opportunity badda BOOM gone.

Anyway, if Mr Pig Rabbit comes on Saturday (which is like 5% possibility) ZOMG YAY????!

If not, still! ZOMG YAY!!!

Now Imma go watch my SJS manpron. Damn, I waited over a month to get the last 5 episodes :P Better be worth the wait ;)

Until next nonsensical poorly structured post!

Gmarket Haul – received!

I bet you’re all sick of me updating every few hours on this, but I’m really excited about this order. I mean, it’s a large order to me ;x

I ordered my items from Gmarket last Wednesday, which was the 17th February. I got my items today, the 23rd of February. Do the math – I got my order from 4 different sellers, shipped express from Korea in just 6 days. That’s impressive, I must say. It took a while for the Yufit to come in, but even so Gmarket shipped out my stuff on a Saturday, so that’s pretty amazingly quick. I mean 6 days is just quick in general. I’ve never had an express parcel come to me this fast, let alone even think about sellers having to ship to the warehouse.

This was also the first time that Australia Post delivered to my door for an express parcel, so I’m fairly impressed with that too. I was getting worried why I wasn’t receiving a card in my mail box at 10am – turns out they decided to deliver it instead :)

The best thing about this order was that it was much cheaper than expected. Although I still think the shipping is too pricey for its own good, I got a refund of about $10 into my Cash balance, as they said my shipping fee was only 33,000Won ish. I checked the EMS parcel – it actually cost 45,000Won! So Gmarket shipping rates are much cheaper. In fact, Gmarket shipping is much cheaper than Zipia shipping. 10kg on Gmarket is only like $60USD XD But anyway.

Of course, the only thing that will bother you is how they chuck boxes into a large box, so that ups the weight of the parcel. Still, it’s not too bad in terms of pricing. Obviously everything is cheaper if you buy it in Korea, but since I got everything in 6 days and got it all in the one box so I don’t need to chase this person or that person, the little extra paid is worth it. It really beats ebay since with ebay you rarely get a tracking number as well.

I placed a 30cm ruler on top of the box.

Fairly large box, I must say. Also a bit of a bump here and there since it’s maybe a quarter empty. This weighed 2.7kg – it’s actually quite heavy, believe it or not.

And as expected, everything came in small box bundles from the sellers and put into this box. I’m starting to not really care about the excess weight of these things. Cardboard boxes aren’t really all that heavy. Besides, you’d rather your fragile items stay inside a small box, protected, than for Gmarket to take it out and neglect the wrapping, yes yes?

This image is for those who can’t imagine how much can be packed into the box. This gives you some idea of size.

So yeah, everything’s quite neat I must say. 4 different sellers, 4 different boxes.

This is what it looks like… with everything taken out.

One of the sellers actually put a box in a box – it was the bag seller, because the bag actually comes in its original box! But before I go into that, let me start from the left to the right.

(1) 2 pink mini polaroid albums + a free gift XD
(2) GARIZ branded camera bag – comes with strap, 2 decoration flaps for the sides, and I paid extra for an air blower set. Free download coupons.
(3) A box of 100 Fujifim Instax film, I paid extra for a multi-SD card reader. Free download coupons.
(4) A box of Yufit Hot V-line masks, with a free Yufit salt scrubbing sample.

So guys, if any of you download from places like jjang.com or something, let me know? I have like, $20 (20,000Won) download vouchers! If I turned all those coupons into cash (and as you can see I got a ridiculous amount), I’d end up with like $150!

The photo albums are sideways, which kinda sucks because I like taking my photos in profile (well, polaroids, anyway). It’s alright though, turn the album around and it’s all good :) A good idea though is to arrange your photos in sets of 4 – 4 landscape on a double page, 4 profile on a double page – you get the drift.
Each photo album comes with 2 sheets of decoration stickers you can use to doodle and stick captions on.
My free gift? It was a pen in the shape of a lipstick! I was so stoked because I had no idea how to open it or what it was. I almost thought it was like a chalk to draw on the photographs >_< But yay! Free pen!

Unfortunately, I don’t plan to model this bag, because I’m in my lazy at home clothes (and I look really unfit) XD There’s a side compartment where you put in a pack of film. I put in my macro lens and also a lens wiper. There’s a special loop to put a name pen (we call them permanent markers) – actually there are 2 loops so you can put in 2 pens! - and in goes the camera! It’s a little tight when you close the bag though. I wish the height of the bag was just a little extra so I don’t feel like I’m suffocating my camera, but considering this bag was designed for these instax cameras, it was probably done for a reason.
If you’ve been browsing on Gmarket and seeing really cheap bags for like $7 each and wondering why I didn’t get one of those instead, it’s because they’re not wide enough – I checked it after I bought this though, but I think paying the extra price for this bag was worth it.

Although pricey, the quality is top notch. No loose threads, no wonky sizing, all the hardware had the brand “GARIZ” consistently engraved into it, and you can do all sorts of funky things with the strap. The bag came wrapped in a fibre fabric to prevent scratches during its shipment, and the instruction card is beautifully printed and dead easy to follow since it’s also in English. The material is sturdy, no real funky smell, doesn’t look or feel cheap, and it came in its own official GARIZ box. I mean, seriously, it’s worth the $40 on ebay. That’s about how much I paid for this including shipping, and believe me, this bag is worth it. This is why the listing on ebay has sold so many of these.

Oh, and I slipped the lipstick pen at the back to show you that there’s still plenty of space for something else. It’s only heightwise that this bag is a bit cramped.

Extras that I ordered.

For those who aren’t familiar with extras, basically there would be another drop down menu under the main item selection menu where you can choose to add a little bit of money to buy something else. It’s generally cheaper than buying on its own and I love doing this because it doesn’t add any weight on top of the estimated shipping. Think about it.

Anyway, on the left is a multi-reader card or whatever you want to call it. I paid about $4 for this (on top of the film) and I’m so-so with it. It’s clear so it has an unusual aesthetic, and I’m not fussed about the brand or whatever. Most of us would buy a random card reader anyway, so who cares? This is unbelievably cheap, so I just got it. Reason why I bought it is because 2 semesters ago I worked with a guy with a DSLR and it was frustrating when we forgot his card reader, because he was the only one who had one. Now that I have one, I don’t have to worry about carrying cables and stuff with me. YES.

The group on the right I’m really impressed with. This was an extra with the camera bag and I paid about $5 for it. I was going to order one of these from elsewhere, but since this one is cheaper and comes in a set, I couldn’t say no. For $5 I got an air blower, a screen cleaning solution spray, a (presumably) good quality brush to brush off excess dirt, a booklet of lens tissue (yes! It’s a book of tissue so you can rip out a tissue to clean stuff!) and a lens cleaner like what you get when you get a pair of glasses. That’s like 5 items there… each item is like $1. Far out. I’m really impressed. The air blower though smelling a little rubbery and the tip not looking very well poked, is still quite sturdy and well made and gives a relatively good blast of air. And as you can see in the image, it can actually stand up by itself, unlike some cheaper ones that roll around on the table and then onto the floor.

This order was retailish. I got the film cheaper though, but everything else I got RRP or ebay price. So that ain’t too bad. Don’t forget I paid for a few extras and got over $150 worth of downloading coupons though. But considering it came so damn fast, and it was literally hassle free, I don’t care D: It’s not like I could have gotten these items for any cheaper! I mean, Zipia is “wholesale” but even so, to me they are like “retail prices that are ideal, yet you can’t get in stores” priced. Gmarket is the same. It’s not really wholesale. It’s just cheaper and better when you bulk buy. Plus you can get items that aren’t readily available in the land of Oz.

I’ve already put in my next Gmarket order as of this morning. PIG RABBIT COMING SOON!

I did it early so I’m hoping that half the items will arrive by this evening, and it can be shipped out tomorrow.

And again, because I woke up early this morning, it feels like 2pm…  but it’s not. OTL Over in Korea it’s still only about 11am – I think the items should be getting ready at the moment. But yes. Fingers crossed.

I’m buying from 4 sellers once again, but I might get 5 packages (I’m hoping I don’t get 13 boxes? I should have left a note saying “one box only please”, but I didn’t know it was possible until I read about it on another blog D: but oh well, doesn’t matter now lol). I’m all giddy and excited because I ordered a cushion for myself (it’s really cute okay, you wait and see), a pig rabbit doll (the one from You’re Beautiful) for C, another box of film (because I realised I owe the lovigans 3 packs, so I’m going to get some extra), and lots of glorious Konad. Well not lots. But I ordered a few image templates, nail polishes and special polishes. Erm – I don’t think I’ll order nail polish from Gmarket ever again, because the estimated shipping is a little heavy (and there’s only so much nail polish a girl needs ;) ). When I did the math, it’s about the same price as buying here (without a refund) – but I prefer getting it from Gmarket since I have some left over in my Cash balance, and I figured at this rate, I HAVE to order my film from Gmarket in the future anyway.

Oh and with this order, I got a HECK OF A LOT OF G-STAMPS – which means I can turn them into cash coupons and I get a few dollars off my next purchase lol.

I’m very broke lol – in a span of 2 weeks Gmarket has sucked almost $400 from me >_< But honestly speaking, I don’t really have anything else I want to buy, so it’s alright. I’ll just keep ordering my film in batches, and there’s no need for me to buy anything in Sydney anyway. I have my clothes, my bags, my shoes, a camera and most of its accessories, and my PHONE CONTRACT IS GONNA END IN LESS THAN A WEEK. YES. I get an extra $10 per month! That’ll all go into my savings >:3 (and Gmarket ^^;;; )

Anyway, that’s that. Oh, and my competition is almost full. I have 16 confirmed participants, 2 pending, and there are a few more spaces. Can we make it to 24 participants? :)

Until next blog!

PS: Tip for shopping on Gmarket -

For me when I bought my Konad nail image plates, I’d jot down the image plate number or whatever with a short description of the product so I can compare without getting doubles. Sometimes it’s hard and you lose track of things when you’re scrolling down a very long page. Keep a pen and paper handy for you do to some calculations and write some Korean. It’ll make buying your items a lot easier.

Four large sheets of paper. Out of the 4, the centre sheet has the most Korean – the rest are in English or are calculations. Damn I’m so nerdy.

Oh look camera bag in top left corner 8D And to M, hi-5 HP buddy!

I did this scribbling with my cushion as well. It was a bit difficult because it could have literally been any one of them on the drop down menu, but I think I got it right.

Gmarket oh Gmarket…

Search: gmarket took forever

Indeed – however I ordered on a Wednesday. By the time everything got into the warehouse, it was the weekend, and you can’t mail stuff on the weekend OTLL

It’s been 5 days since I put in my order and I’m impatiently constantly checking – but I keep forgetting that this morning I actually woke up early (in fact, an hour early), and that the time in Korea is 2 hours behind. I assume that my stuff will be sent out this afternoon.

If you’re ordering just like one item however, it’s unbelievably fast, provided you have an awesome seller. My problem this time is buying from different sellers so it took a while to wait on things.

Interesting stuff, apparently if you sign up for Gmarket with a hotmail password, you will have difficulty resetting your password if you forgot your Gaccount password. I’ve tried numerous times to send myself a reset serial code. Alas, I had to contact their customer service, and well – yeah. They replied asking me for ID to check my name and to provide them with a new email. So I did. Now I’m waiting for them to do stuff. I’m assuming they will reply to me. This is really frustrating… why isn’t their system sending me an email? *sigh*

Dad is watching Dragon Sabre… I have a feeling he’s gonna be facepalming soon like how I did.

Sydney Metro plan scrapped

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/02/21/2825812.htm

Last semester I did a project on the Sydney Metro and I designed the new Town Hall Square station interface.

For those who didn’t know, the Sydney Metro was something like a 6 stop metro loop underground that would be a really fast and regular service. To accommodate for this, Woolworths on the corner of George and Park Street was to be demolished into an open square, the metro platforms sitting snugly about 25-30m below street level. This was sort of nice considering there was connectivity to Town Hall station (existing city rail).

The news article above talks about the new plans to scrap the entire project, meaning that the research and planning they went through in the past maybe 5 years or so apparently being a costly activity. In fact, 5 billion dollars worth of Australian tax money is going towards compensation for losses and well – yeah. It took 5 billion dollars to realise that it was probably more urgent to upgrade/ improve the current transport system we have currently, and to improve interconnectivity between different transportational modes.

In a way, that’s kind of good. We might find that we have tickets for various modes of transport like Hong Kong’s Octopus Card, or at least higher frequency buses and better transport altogether. The Sydney Metro only really benefited those who would be in Barangaroo or those who were residing in Rozelle to reach the CBD faster (due to high levels of traffic on a congested Victoria Road).

Ah well, if the idea comes up again in the near future, I wouldn’t be too surprised. We had some really excellent projects for Barangaroo – it would/ could have been awesome, but only time will tell for now.

Quick postage of a new link

I added a new link to the side to Chubby*Hobby. I was randomly googling for instax film, and I stumbled across her blog. If you’re reading this Jo (owner of Chubby*Hobby), I hope you don’t mind me blogging/ tagging you to my site links!

The reason why I linked her is because she has awesome photographs, has very good tutorials on handmade things (I seriously wouldn’t have the patience to do all that) – and seriously, I am a bigggg sucker for handmade stuff. (I’m a big Aranzi Aronzo fan… too bad I threw Mr Panda out after a disastrous series of events >_<)

So yeah, if you own a sewing machine and you like handmade stuff, check out her blog! She’s based in Sydney, too :D

Reading her blog makes me want a sewing machine and make stuff. Too bad the only thing I made in the past year was Mr Panda. I should make myself some cute cushions to decorate my room, actually :O Means I need fabric though. Hmmm. I’ll think about it :D

Anyway – I might be back later tonight with a possible bloggerism, otherwise I’ll be doing my own thing and then well er – yeah… *slips away*

Search: “long xiong” pills

For those who don’t know Chinese, “long xiong” means breast augmentation. So together, breast augmentation pills.

Dear searcher,

There’s no such thing as breast enlargement/ augmentation pills. There is such thing however as breast enhancement pills, which should be “feng xiong” – but not, not “long xiong” – not ever. Having said enhancement even though most product descriptions will tell you that the effect is permanent, most likely, it’s not. Only a small percentage of lucky women will achieve permanent breast enhancement. Note that I’m wording this extremely careful, as the sellers would be. You get carried away over the prospect of larger breasts, but you tend to forget this “largeness” comes from enhancement (making what you have nicer) rather than enlargement (making what you have something completely different).

Good luck in finding something for you! I don’t know of anything like that so I can’t help.

Search: “kunie kanbara” artbook download

NO NO >:\

This search makes me happy and angry at the same time.

I, and a few other members of anime communities, are the only ones who have ever bothered to scan and upload scans of Kunie’s ”RESET” artbook. If you’re trying to download it I don’t really mind, but don’t make it seem like you want to download the full artbook as a zip. In fact, the entire artbook is not available on the web because I haven’t scanned it. I trust that the others haven’t done so either.

Visit www.minitokyo.net, register, be a good policy abiding member – fave and comment on the scans, and you will have no problem getting enough credits for downloading Kunie Kanbara scans.

If you didn’t mean leeching the artbook as a whole, I apologise for the harsh response, but it really does annoy me. I have the artbook, but no, I’m not going to simply upload it as a zip free for download and use. It’s a LOT of work scanning, I can tell ya. I do scanning not just for Minitokyo but also outside of Mt for history. It’s really not fun. So please, at least download the scans from a website (if not Mt then AP) and  please leave us a comment, because as scanners, we just hope that you’re happy with what we’re sharing with you. We want to know that. Thanks~

That’s about it for today. The rest are repeat searches :)

Macro lens

Today, I received my Fujifilm Instax 7s Macro lens (upgrade to Mini 25) in the mail today. It came from Japan, and it was only posted on like Monday or something o_O Super fast. It was mentioned that it was “expedited” but there was no tracking number. That was… really fast. When I looked this morning, it had been in my mailbox since yesterday O_O How the heck did it get here so quickly? Confusion.

I also got some souvenirs from N – thank you very much :D Apparently her trip to Japan was absolutely amazing – sigh – I need to go one day :( If only my dad didn’t stop me. I hate it when he puts  these stupid conditions on me. “You may only go to Japan if XXX is going!” – yeah, well, thanks, maybe that person might not HAVE money to go or just doesn’t want to go with me? My dad’s an idiot.

Anyway.

The macro lens as shown above is made by Fujifilm, so it’s actually an official product. The lens feel really cheap though like plastic, but it clips onto your camera lens easily. It’s easily removable too. There’s a mirror on the side if you want to take luvos of yourself  or take a photo with a friend without having to ask a random stranger to do it for you if there’s nobody else you know hanging around nearby.

The macro lens is the only official Fujifilm lens attachment/ extra made for the Instax Mini 7s – to my knowledge.

I have not yet found any other type of lens that can be added onto the 7s. Everywhere you search, you will only find this macro lens. I think even on the camera specs, it only mentions the macro lens as an extra. So I’ll be waiting to see if there’s a fish eye or a wide angle – but I doubt it at this moment. And yeah – the white camera doesn’t come with fish eye lens.

I took two shots hanging around in the city today. I took three shots total today – all using the macro lens, and all featuring flowers in them.

The macro lens is designed so that you can shoot things within a 40-60cm range. Anything beyond 60cm will get blurred, and anything less than 40cm will get blurred – I think.

The good thing about having a macro lens like this is that if you want something to bokeh a bit, you will get bokeh.

Frontal blur. It’s quite a nice effect, actually.

Oh, and by the way. THE IMAGE STILL SHIFTS WHEN YOU USE A MACRO LENS.

Slightly bokeh in the respect that the petals look like blurry hearts.

PS: Never take a photo of something with light emitting from it with a camera that has a flash.

I tried to take a photo of the Mizuya trees with my Instax and that was the result. It’s a bit like taking a photo with a flash against the sun – everything is washed out but you get nice details. Surprisingly this shot makes the tree look VERY REAL @_@ The trees are very fake when you see them in person. Check it out in my Mizuya post below and you know what I mean.

I’m not posting up the third one because it’s made of epic fail (another image shift, again) but still alright. I’m still testing out the macro lens after all. It’s still better than the Hyde Park shot LOL – black nothing less cept for a few spots of light.

But yeah, the macro lens is just an add on to help focus it on closer objects, and you get bokeh with it. I can’t wait to test it out at night. That’d be really cool.

I went to Kinokuniya today and they have more Cher totes in stock! OMG. I want. But I can’t justify spending another $30+ on it. I get a pouch (like a pencil case), latest catalogue and archive with it, but I can’t! I need to save! Not to mention I don’t think that it suits me :( Their totes are so cute but it just doesn’t suit me *sobs* that’s why I lost the tote in the first place :(

Plus I have Gmarket on the way. I can’t spend!

-*-*-*-

That store (ie. that store) opens at 2pm. I messaged y’all about it. But yeah. The cheaper film package is only when you buy a camera, which sucks balls. I strongly recommend you buy from SG or ebay or Gmarket. They’re ALL cheaper now. If you don’t like Gmarket because it’s complicated, hard to navigate and don’t like refunds into lalaland, get it from ebay ($92 for 100 film shipped) or  SG. I have a feeling ebay will be cheaper since it’s $92 shipped already – but hey, whatever works. I’m not paying more than $10 for a pack of that white frame film. That’s not economical, especially when I occasionally get a fail shot.

When she told me the prices I don’t know if I heard wrong or not but the normal white frame film is $16/ pack? I can’t really remember because I was just so giddy the shop was even open. But uh, remember she told us they were $22? >_> The Hello Kitty ones are $25. The other one was $16 and AH I REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS – it’s was the cars! You know that Disney movie with the talking cars. I dunno the name of it but yeah, it was that one. Sorry for saying Stitch – I just literally forgot the prices and what I saw after she told me that film was that expensive Dx

But oh well. Oh, and another store we’ve never seen open was open! Seems like they open at 2pm ish. But we’re rarely walking about at 2pm – we’re usually eating at that time :P

Anyway, gonna check up on the Gmarket. I don’t think it’s going to be shipped out to me today. Sad. Oh well.

Until next blog!

UPDATE/ My Yufit is at the warehouse now and a little over 10000 Won is now in my Cash account. The estimated shipping was at 5.6kg, but it was actually only 2.7kg. That’s not bad! I saved $10 then. I’ll continue to order film from Gmarket lol – and it seems that it’s cheaper than zipia. We’ll see. I need a job/ to save >_>
And yeah – maybe it might get sent out tomorrow (from memory the postal services still work on Saturdays) – if not I’mma getting my parcel heaps later :(
