I bet you’re all sick of me updating every few hours on this, but I’m really excited about this order. I mean, it’s a large order to me ;x
I ordered my items from Gmarket last Wednesday, which was the 17th February. I got my items today, the 23rd of February. Do the math – I got my order from 4 different sellers, shipped express from Korea in just 6 days. That’s impressive, I must say. It took a while for the Yufit to come in, but even so Gmarket shipped out my stuff on a Saturday, so that’s pretty amazingly quick. I mean 6 days is just quick in general. I’ve never had an express parcel come to me this fast, let alone even think about sellers having to ship to the warehouse.
This was also the first time that Australia Post delivered to my door for an express parcel, so I’m fairly impressed with that too. I was getting worried why I wasn’t receiving a card in my mail box at 10am – turns out they decided to deliver it instead
The best thing about this order was that it was much cheaper than expected. Although I still think the shipping is too pricey for its own good, I got a refund of about $10 into my Cash balance, as they said my shipping fee was only 33,000Won ish. I checked the EMS parcel – it actually cost 45,000Won! So Gmarket shipping rates are much cheaper. In fact, Gmarket shipping is much cheaper than Zipia shipping. 10kg on Gmarket is only like $60USD XD But anyway.
Of course, the only thing that will bother you is how they chuck boxes into a large box, so that ups the weight of the parcel. Still, it’s not too bad in terms of pricing. Obviously everything is cheaper if you buy it in Korea, but since I got everything in 6 days and got it all in the one box so I don’t need to chase this person or that person, the little extra paid is worth it. It really beats ebay since with ebay you rarely get a tracking number as well.

I placed a 30cm ruler on top of the box.
Fairly large box, I must say. Also a bit of a bump here and there since it’s maybe a quarter empty. This weighed 2.7kg – it’s actually quite heavy, believe it or not.

And as expected, everything came in small box bundles from the sellers and put into this box. I’m starting to not really care about the excess weight of these things. Cardboard boxes aren’t really all that heavy. Besides, you’d rather your fragile items stay inside a small box, protected, than for Gmarket to take it out and neglect the wrapping, yes yes?

This image is for those who can’t imagine how much can be packed into the box. This gives you some idea of size.
So yeah, everything’s quite neat I must say. 4 different sellers, 4 different boxes.

This is what it looks like… with everything taken out.
One of the sellers actually put a box in a box – it was the bag seller, because the bag actually comes in its original box! But before I go into that, let me start from the left to the right.
(1) 2 pink mini polaroid albums + a free gift XD
(2) GARIZ branded camera bag – comes with strap, 2 decoration flaps for the sides, and I paid extra for an air blower set. Free download coupons.
(3) A box of 100 Fujifim Instax film, I paid extra for a multi-SD card reader. Free download coupons.
(4) A box of Yufit Hot V-line masks, with a free Yufit salt scrubbing sample.
So guys, if any of you download from places like jjang.com or something, let me know? I have like, $20 (20,000Won) download vouchers! If I turned all those coupons into cash (and as you can see I got a ridiculous amount), I’d end up with like $150!

The photo albums are sideways, which kinda sucks because I like taking my photos in profile (well, polaroids, anyway). It’s alright though, turn the album around and it’s all good
A good idea though is to arrange your photos in sets of 4 – 4 landscape on a double page, 4 profile on a double page – you get the drift.
Each photo album comes with 2 sheets of decoration stickers you can use to doodle and stick captions on.
My free gift? It was a pen in the shape of a lipstick! I was so stoked because I had no idea how to open it or what it was. I almost thought it was like a chalk to draw on the photographs >_< But yay! Free pen!

Unfortunately, I don’t plan to model this bag, because I’m in my lazy at home clothes (and I look really unfit) XD There’s a side compartment where you put in a pack of film. I put in my macro lens and also a lens wiper. There’s a special loop to put a name pen (we call them permanent markers) – actually there are 2 loops so you can put in 2 pens! - and in goes the camera! It’s a little tight when you close the bag though. I wish the height of the bag was just a little extra so I don’t feel like I’m suffocating my camera, but considering this bag was designed for these instax cameras, it was probably done for a reason.
If you’ve been browsing on Gmarket and seeing really cheap bags for like $7 each and wondering why I didn’t get one of those instead, it’s because they’re not wide enough – I checked it after I bought this though, but I think paying the extra price for this bag was worth it.
Although pricey, the quality is top notch. No loose threads, no wonky sizing, all the hardware had the brand “GARIZ” consistently engraved into it, and you can do all sorts of funky things with the strap. The bag came wrapped in a fibre fabric to prevent scratches during its shipment, and the instruction card is beautifully printed and dead easy to follow since it’s also in English. The material is sturdy, no real funky smell, doesn’t look or feel cheap, and it came in its own official GARIZ box. I mean, seriously, it’s worth the $40 on ebay. That’s about how much I paid for this including shipping, and believe me, this bag is worth it. This is why the listing on ebay has sold so many of these.
Oh, and I slipped the lipstick pen at the back to show you that there’s still plenty of space for something else. It’s only heightwise that this bag is a bit cramped.

Extras that I ordered.
For those who aren’t familiar with extras, basically there would be another drop down menu under the main item selection menu where you can choose to add a little bit of money to buy something else. It’s generally cheaper than buying on its own and I love doing this because it doesn’t add any weight on top of the estimated shipping. Think about it.
Anyway, on the left is a multi-reader card or whatever you want to call it. I paid about $4 for this (on top of the film) and I’m so-so with it. It’s clear so it has an unusual aesthetic, and I’m not fussed about the brand or whatever. Most of us would buy a random card reader anyway, so who cares? This is unbelievably cheap, so I just got it. Reason why I bought it is because 2 semesters ago I worked with a guy with a DSLR and it was frustrating when we forgot his card reader, because he was the only one who had one. Now that I have one, I don’t have to worry about carrying cables and stuff with me. YES.
The group on the right I’m really impressed with. This was an extra with the camera bag and I paid about $5 for it. I was going to order one of these from elsewhere, but since this one is cheaper and comes in a set, I couldn’t say no. For $5 I got an air blower, a screen cleaning solution spray, a (presumably) good quality brush to brush off excess dirt, a booklet of lens tissue (yes! It’s a book of tissue so you can rip out a tissue to clean stuff!) and a lens cleaner like what you get when you get a pair of glasses. That’s like 5 items there… each item is like $1. Far out. I’m really impressed. The air blower though smelling a little rubbery and the tip not looking very well poked, is still quite sturdy and well made and gives a relatively good blast of air. And as you can see in the image, it can actually stand up by itself, unlike some cheaper ones that roll around on the table and then onto the floor.
This order was retailish. I got the film cheaper though, but everything else I got RRP or ebay price. So that ain’t too bad. Don’t forget I paid for a few extras and got over $150 worth of downloading coupons though. But considering it came so damn fast, and it was literally hassle free, I don’t care D: It’s not like I could have gotten these items for any cheaper! I mean, Zipia is “wholesale” but even so, to me they are like “retail prices that are ideal, yet you can’t get in stores” priced. Gmarket is the same. It’s not really wholesale. It’s just cheaper and better when you bulk buy. Plus you can get items that aren’t readily available in the land of Oz.
I’ve already put in my next Gmarket order as of this morning. PIG RABBIT COMING SOON!
I did it early so I’m hoping that half the items will arrive by this evening, and it can be shipped out tomorrow.
And again, because I woke up early this morning, it feels like 2pm… but it’s not. OTL Over in Korea it’s still only about 11am – I think the items should be getting ready at the moment. But yes. Fingers crossed.
I’m buying from 4 sellers once again, but I might get 5 packages (I’m hoping I don’t get 13 boxes? I should have left a note saying “one box only please”, but I didn’t know it was possible until I read about it on another blog D: but oh well, doesn’t matter now lol). I’m all giddy and excited because I ordered a cushion for myself (it’s really cute okay, you wait and see), a pig rabbit doll (the one from You’re Beautiful) for C, another box of film (because I realised I owe the lovigans 3 packs, so I’m going to get some extra), and lots of glorious Konad. Well not lots. But I ordered a few image templates, nail polishes and special polishes. Erm – I don’t think I’ll order nail polish from Gmarket ever again, because the estimated shipping is a little heavy (and there’s only so much nail polish a girl needs
). When I did the math, it’s about the same price as buying here (without a refund) – but I prefer getting it from Gmarket since I have some left over in my Cash balance, and I figured at this rate, I HAVE to order my film from Gmarket in the future anyway.
Oh and with this order, I got a HECK OF A LOT OF G-STAMPS – which means I can turn them into cash coupons and I get a few dollars off my next purchase lol.
I’m very broke lol – in a span of 2 weeks Gmarket has sucked almost $400 from me >_< But honestly speaking, I don’t really have anything else I want to buy, so it’s alright. I’ll just keep ordering my film in batches, and there’s no need for me to buy anything in Sydney anyway. I have my clothes, my bags, my shoes, a camera and most of its accessories, and my PHONE CONTRACT IS GONNA END IN LESS THAN A WEEK. YES. I get an extra $10 per month! That’ll all go into my savings >:3 (and Gmarket ^^;;; )
Anyway, that’s that. Oh, and my competition is almost full. I have 16 confirmed participants, 2 pending, and there are a few more spaces. Can we make it to 24 participants?
Until next blog!
PS: Tip for shopping on Gmarket -
For me when I bought my Konad nail image plates, I’d jot down the image plate number or whatever with a short description of the product so I can compare without getting doubles. Sometimes it’s hard and you lose track of things when you’re scrolling down a very long page. Keep a pen and paper handy for you do to some calculations and write some Korean. It’ll make buying your items a lot easier.

Four large sheets of paper. Out of the 4, the centre sheet has the most Korean – the rest are in English or are calculations. Damn I’m so nerdy.
Oh look camera bag in top left corner 8D And to M, hi-5 HP buddy!
I did this scribbling with my cushion as well. It was a bit difficult because it could have literally been any one of them on the drop down menu, but I think I got it right.
