11 Questions

1. What are your pet peeves?
Oh wow, too many to list! I even started a series of blog entries highlighting these, I’ve practically lost count. I guess I shall try to list three of these? Haha – I’m actually a person who really complains deep down about these things >:\ I think one thing that annoys me the most is people who walk really slow in front of you when you’re walking down the street – and it’s really hard to overtake them, I hate it when that happens.  Straightening my hair just for it to curl slightly after I’ve finished. Finishing something just to find out I’ve missed something, or having someone tell me to change something – I really hate it when that happens.

2. Ever wished that you were taller or shorter?
I’m 165cm (that’s around 5 foot 4) so you can say it’s the ideal height for most girls, or super common, average height. I can’t say I’m tall, but I can’t say I’m short either. I did (and still do) wish that I were taller – around 167cm would have been my ideal height. I did grow a centimetre in 2009, so I guess there’s a bit of hope…?

3. What are your favourite type of shoes to wear?
Anything that looks cool, really, but need to be comfortable. I walk and stand quite a lot, and although I have small feet, they tend to swell up a lot and pretty fast too :\ I also think that shoes need to be good quality and usually I equate quality with the price tag or label. I now try to have all my shoes “Made in Italy” (I find they tend to last a heck of a lot longer) – so I guess anything that fits under those conditions, I’d buy.

But honestly, I have a thing for boots – I really really love boots in all forms, be it ankle boots, high top sneakers (they can be considered boots too!), knee high boots, heeled boots, gumboots/ wellingtons - you name it.

4. Do you listen to music on your phone or portable music device?
Neither – I rarely listen to music when I’m out and about. If I listen to music it’s probably via my PC with my headphones on.

5. Did you learn a musical instrument when you were younger?
Yes, I learned the keyboard LOL. It was lame, I think I got to grade 4, but I still couldn’t play with my left and right hand both playing simultaneously. Then I quit.

And then there was the recorder, which was a compulsory instrument in junior high… but seriously, who CAN’T play the recorder?

6. Do you prefer online or instore shopping?
It really depends on what it is – online shopping has so many awesome bargains, and it’s all mailed to me so I even get to save time and transport costs. I love shopping for skincare online because it’s a lot of cheaper, but for things that involve colours or sizes (such as pants) I really have to buy them instore. Most of the things I order online are either one size or are dresses, because I know there’s a 95% chance it’ll fit me.

Even so, 90% chance is if I order a dress online, it’s way too short on me, so I end up wearing them all as long tops.

7. What’s your fondest memory of your childhood?
I didn’t really have a great childhood to be quite honest… possibly the best memory I had was one of my birthdays… I had a fruit cake, took lots of photos and got to sit on my dad’s lap.

A close second would probably be in Hong Kong with my cousin – we argued to no end while I was there, but towards the end of the trip I taught him how to say “cheeseburger” in English and that really made my day. I was 4 years old, he was 10 years old at the time.

8. Do you learn any languages?
Not officially – it’s all kind of “along the way” thing.

There are 3 languages I usually list on my resume as languages I know and have little difficulty with – English, Cantonese, Mandarin. The unofficial languages I know include Japanese and a dialect named Hakka – I used to actually translate Japanese manga, songs and various other crap in my spare time, so I was kind of fluent in a literal since. Hakka is a dialect I understand by ear, but cannot utter more than basic sentences. It’s been a very long time since I’ve used or encountered either one, so they’ve kind of dwindled and died inside me. If I have the chance, I’d like to pick them both up again.

At work I’m really trying hard to learn Mandarin – as in, polishing it up. There’s also the occasional Cantonese slang, but my manager is kind enough to explain it to me so I’m not clueless lol. I think my Mandarin has really improved drastically these few months as it’s all I’ve been using to communicate with my workmate – at least I don’t have to pause for about 5 seconds before any sound comes out of me lol. No really, I’m a lot more fluent than before.

The only language I’m genuinely interested in picking up bits and pieces at the moment is Korean. I knew how to read and write the alphabet in high school, but it’s only now that I’m really listening to their music, watching their drama and variety shows that I’m slowly picking up really really basic bits. Let’s just say I know enough to know if a Korean customer just doesn’t like a product or thinks it’s too expensive or thinks it’s pretty. It’s sometimes really nifty because we do have some Korean customers who know little English, and I kinda know what they’re trying to say.

9. What type of books do you like to read?
… manga/ Japanese fashion magazines? Lol, I really don’t read much these days. The most literate I get is reading something like www.fmylife.com or www.cracked.com – hardly any scholastic merit, I must say.

10. Do you like to collect anything? If so, how big is your collection and when did you start collecting?
I go through phases, so if there’s a collection of anything, it’s never really all that big. I stop collecting when I start to think I’ve got a terrible obsession that really needs to stop.

My ongoing collection will probably be my stash of designer goods, I suppose. I started when I was about 21 years old.

My collection is really getting out of control… it’s hard to say how many items I have because I have bought a lot of what I consider “borderline” designer branded items… but for items that are definitely designer (Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, Prada – you get the idea) as in boutique style items, I currently own at least 43 items (there are probably more, I probably did miss a few items). The items include things like accessories (belts, jewellery, sunglasses, watches), clothes (tops, jackets, pants), shoes, scarfs, hats, keychains, bags, wallets.

I did not include items such as skincare, cosmetics or fragrances.

Just a small portion of crap I own. Yes, I have a Burberry newsboy hat. Why, I do not know.

Out of the brands I purchase, the largest collection is surprisingly from Burberry, at 12 items. That includes a travel bag, three jackets (to be precise, one jacket, one coat/cape, one quilt jacket), two tops, a jumper, three pairs of shoes, scarf and a hat.

So yeah. I bought all of these items (none of these were gifts, believe it or not). I’m turning 24 this year… so it means I got on average about 15-20 items each year… >_>

My collection is relatively small compared to some people I know, but still, it’s the biggest collection I own, because it’s the most expensive… and I know it’ll only just get larger because I have a lot of things I have yet to buy…

11. Do you prefer typing or writing (by hand) your notes?
By hand, by far. The only time I like to type is when I blog, but if it’s taking notes, definitely by hand. I find that if I type my notes, I don’t use them. Never used them, actually, lol. I mean, even several years down the track I can still find my handwritten notes and they are still useful now. Awesome.

And so I shall tag…

@onthebeat, @lolitium and @camillesioco, though y’all are under ZERO obligation to do it LOL.

Here are my 11 questions anyway…

1. The one thing you’re really particular/ obsessive compulsive about is…?
2. Are you particular about grammar?
3. Were you a good student/ are you good at studying?
4. What is your favourite type of food to eat?
5. Do you have a favourite place, if so, where and why?
6. What are your dressing habits?
7. Face to face socialising or virtual (phone, computer/ net) socialising?
8. Where are your favourite places to shop?
9. What is your heritage?
10. In regards to self improvement, is there something you would like to learn/ pick up?
11. What are your long term goals in life?

Wow, that was long. Hope you all enjoyed my massive block of text… I’m really drained now LOL. Work tomorrow, good night everyone!

Olds – because it’s not news.

Lame title aside, I did mention that I had a lot of stuff to write about – I just never really had the time or effort to properly articulate and organise my thoughts into a coherent post.

Lately I’ve started to draft posts again so that I could publish whenever I needed to. I figured since I had so much time, I might as well put more into blogging.

I’m aware that I’m not publishing things as often as I’d like to – sometimes I feel my blog posts are too short (FYI, I like my posts to be on average 1500 words or longer) and if they’re too short, I usually axe the draft or abandon it for days thinking about how to prolong it. Not the best blogging formula as it leads to boresauce (ie. droning on for the sake of doing so), but I hope I’ll be able to keep you all entertained. Beauty blogs coming and en queue – you just wait and see.

So, I can’t survive a zombie apocalypse with guns, but I could probably survive it growing plants. I think.

I know. Zombies. Again. But we have an internal joke about zombies, so I really do hate them, but at the same time, THESE ZOMBIES ARE SO CUTE. Sort of.

I know this makes me look really noob because the levels of the screenshots are so low, but actually I’ve completed all 50 levels of Plants Vs Zombies and beat Mr Zomboss at the end. I didn’t know it was the last level until the end credits song started playing, so I didn’t get any screenshots of the last level :( But if you youtube the last level, you’ll know what I mean!

Look at the determined face on the purple blobs LOL

There are normal zombies, zombies holding screen doors, POLE VAULTING ZOMBIES and zombies wearing ridiculous things like witches hats (also metal buckets too) on their heads. There are actually many more zombies like scuba diving zombies, football zombies, Sudoku addicted reading newspaper zombies, retro disco zombies and from the trailer, they even have zombies in bobsleds >_> Some of the scariest would have to be the gargantuan zombie (which is the zombie version of say, Hulk), and the dolphin riding zombie LOL I dunno why I freak out when those appear. The most annoying ones would have to be the bungee zombies – eurgh I hate them so much.

The game starts with a zombie invasion at your front yard, which then lasts until night time. The zombie attack failed, so they start attacking your BACKYARD (where there’s a pool >__>) and later on they start to invade your roof and try to enter presumably down your chimney.

I played the trial a total of two times – once on my computer and again online, because I realised that if I played online, I could get all the locked plants like the Squash >_> Problem is you need to start right from the beginning and this game is very time consuming. But now that I’ve finished it, it’s okay~ I can now go to sleep in peace knowing that I beat the zombies. YAY. Coming to think of it, I think this is one of the few/ rare computer games I’ve finished right to the end.

The music and sound effects are awesome. The trailer is exactly what it sounds like when you’re playing the bonus levels – so well yeah. Play the trial if you’re interested – or the full version :P

The game isn’t hard (I mean, I can finish it, so that’s actually saying something >_>),  it’s just time consuming and a bit tricky at times because the zombies come en masse. Well, this kept me entertained for a good… I don’t know, 10 hours (?) these past few days. Possibly less than 10 hours though – I don’t think it took that long, but then again, I can’t remember, because I didn’t play it in one go. Hmmm.

I also had fun playing the mini puzzles and survival games. I got a mass of nightmares after playing the game though. Occasionally when I close my eyes I see zombies on my lawn. Guhhhhhhh.

UEE bb is back and flawless as ever. Also MBC should be ashamed of themselves. ASHAMED.

Said title is referring to this article which was the last of the string of news about UEE’s drama “Birdie Buddy”.

I was praying hoping for Queen of Reversals or whatever it was to finish so that Birdie Buddy could air afterwards, since it was scheduled to replace QoR’s timeslot. BUT NO. THEY DECIDED TO NOT AIR IT?? WHY?? I was actually looking forward to it. MY HEART IS BROKEN AND SUPERGLUE FAILS TO ADHERE IT BACK.

Brb, picking up pieces and heating up glue gun.

Experimentation and a zillion things I want to do

Starting to get worried here – chuckles (not). No, I really am starting to get worried. But you don’t have to mind me – I suspect that I have a high level of paranoia compared to other people, and when I get worried, I get paranoid, and then incessantly whine and complain to everyone and anyone in sight. Bottom line is – please get used to it, k thanks, love you <3

I better not write about it in detail because it shouldn’t be public lol – will tell people I know in person if I see people (which I’m not doing enough regularly – I think I’m going to go insane soon).

I noticed that I absolutely hate my haircut and again, it’s too long (or too short, if I wanted it to be longer – this length is just soooo RANDOM). I also need a new hair colour but don’t want to do anything in case if it’s too crazy and I need it to be normal… I was originally thinking of Gdragon’s ginger coloured orange, but on second thoughts, I probably shouldn’t. Gosh I hate my hair. This is probably the worst hair I’ve had since 2006. You know the feeling when you get a crap haircut, and then you tell yourself “It’s okay, I’ll straighten it/ grow it!”, then you actually think even after a few days “hey this isn’t so bad when I style it”? Yeah, well, I’m not feeling it. Not once have I felt “pretty” with this hair – but who knows, maybe I just need to straighten it. In other words, I need to get out of the house and be bothered to groom self.

In a way it’s good because it means I no longer look the same as usual (for all of 2007 I had the same hairstyle, and then 2008-mid 2010 my hair was the same :S) but I don’t know if I want to keep the trend. I’d probably punch something if I get this haircut twice in a row.

Just a heads up, the past two occasions I got my hair cut I went to Noble hairdresser on Pitt Street. I was going to review them personally (since my review was based on my mum’s haircut), but I stopped because I had nothing particularly positive to say. Nothing wrong with them, I just have beef with a particular hairdresser – because she’s really really sloppy. I was unlucky enough to get her on BOTH occasions (WHAT WERE THE CHANCES???) and to be frank, I’m petrified of her. My first cut (if anyone remembers) 3 months ago cost me $45 (FREAKING EXPENSIVE considering I’m used to $37 – but that’s how long my hair actually got, CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE? – but that aside, I don’t find it expensive per se – it was expensive because the hair wash was sloppy [what the, only scratching my scalp once...] and the haircut wasn’t great…) and my recent haircut $35 (I requested 10cm to be chopped off) – not expensive either, but if you ask me, I rather go back to KSY and pay $2 extra for at least my hair to be thinned and styled properly. Heck even the hair wash would have been better at KSY :\ – but to reiterate, this isn’t a statement about the salon – it’s a statement about that particular hairdresser! I am thinking of visiting their other branch which is just around the corner – and if that’s third time unlucky, I’m going back to Kim Sun Young, whether I like it or not… :\

Mazel tov Monday

Well, it’s no surprise that after an uneventful weekend, I’m back with yet another uneventful post.

This is just getting beyond ridiculous.

“Giveth mine memory card, or the force which should be used for defense shall be unlocked upon you I’ll use.”
Img src: http://www.taehahime.com/perm/hahhah/domo-yoda.jpg

My memory card? Still not here. Freaking customer service seems okay but it’s so poor since they promised me to email me a form (which I have to consequently sign and return – and guess what, that’ll add an extra day) but they DID NOT EMAIL IT TO ME. They take one business day (in fact since they don’t operate over the weekend, means I had to wait the entire weekend)  just to write a response, and they DO NOT DO THEIR WORK. Seems like it’ll take another day for it to happen, hmm? If so, I’m definitely going to blow up at customer service and I’ll most likely even bitch about it on their Facebook page. I am NOT a happy camper. A memory card does not take up to 3 weeks to ship especially when their warehouse I probably can literally see from my place! “LOST IN TRANSIT” – do they realise that it’s virtually IMPOSSIBLE for items to get lost in transit unless it was so poorly packaged that the address is either unreadable or the packaging is completely ruined?! Are you kidding me?! I KNOW how the postal system works! This is a load of crap! Whilst the money I paid wasn’t that much, if they weren’t going to be competent enough to send it out to me in the first place, do me a favour, let me know so I can actually go somewhere and just BUY one instead of having to wait for… let me see… NOTHING?!

This isn’t just an “inconvenience”, it’s a complete waste of MY PRECIOUS TIME. I rather be sitting doing nothing peeling an apple, than to have to chase up for something that I’ve already paid for – it’s MINE. If the company had bothered to ACTUALLY SEND IT OUT VIA EPARCEL LIKE THEIR WEBSITE PROMISED IN THE FIRST PLACE, then NONE of this would have to happen. I’m simply just fuming because people entrust this place to send out their items SAFELY (their website says yadda yadda everything is insured so that it will get to you and they’ll replace it if it gets lost in the mail) when they turn around and then say “OH UH SRZ LOLZ WE SENT IT OUT VIA NORMAL MAIL CUZ WE WANTD TO SAVE MUNNEH – DIDDUN THINK U’D NOTICE” – WTH!?

If I still don’t get an email tomorrow, I will definitely not be happy. 3 entire weeks since I’ve paid and local ground mail does NOT take that freaking long. In fact I’ve made overseas purchases which are faster. I have no problem if they don’t want to deal with a dissatisfied customer, because I’m more than happy to take my business elsewhere. ARGH – FRUSTRATION x 10000.

I’ll write the full details on this place as a dedicated post another time. Be very wary buying from them – it’s NOT worth your trouble! I could have given my money to charity instead – this is just disgusting!

In fact right now I’m considering taking this to Fair Trading. This is just absolutely ridiculous.

… and the weight is…

Well. Bloatsauce. Comes as no surprise – I gained 0.6kg. Sigh.

My measurements are the same as last week though – no change, which means it’s just a temporary bouncing of weight here and there. To be honest I can’t be stuffed doing the 5kg weightloss target thing. I’ve lost 4kg already, and it’s just been dancing around those numbers. I think at the end of the day if my measurements are looking good then I don’t need to be too concerned with how much I weigh, yes? But in any case, I’ll still aim for those blasted 5kg and 26″ waist target – I’m still doing okay considering I’ve only been doing this for a few months… but anyway. I shall continue on with it.

Boys can be, and are ridiculous. Hence they are boys.

Someone just told me that guys don’t get girlfriends because “they have other things to do with the time instead of having a girlfriend”.

Forewarning – Mazel tov Monday should ideally be renamed “Bitchy Monday” – but I woke up on the wrong side of the bed to begin with this morning. Apologies, my lovelies.

SAY WHUTTTTTTTTT?!

Does anyone else agree with me but does that sound ludicrous or LUDICROUS?!

So in other words, from what I gather, other things may take priority over having a girlfriend. May I please ask, what kinds of things take priority over having a girlfriend?

This is what I immediately thought of:

Playing Starcraft II.

Img src: http://sui-ngau.xanga.com – two thumbs up – one for the username (Buffalo), and second thumb because xanga surprisingly still exists. No thumbs for the game itself, as this is the source of late night gaming, thus releasing tons of carbon/greenhouse gases into the atmosphere with the fuel needed to be burned to help fire extra CPU and graphics card for those millions playing worldwide. And for the girls who are burning photographs and voodoo dolls of boyfriends who left them to play this blasphemous game.
Just kiddin’, it looks freaking awesome.

So very possibly instead of having a girlfriend, a guy would rather play Starcraft 2. Well okay, it’s not surprising – it’s been a long awaited game release, and it’s so extreme that one of my friends actually called up EB Games at midnight, asked when they’d close, and ran downstairs to buy it – he bought the game 5 minutes past midnight on the day/ night of its release.

Usually you’d think that at midnight you’d be at home cuddled with either a bunch of soft toys (if you have no significant other) or your significant other.

Some guys would rather prefer to stroke their keyboards and mice all night long baby. Alllll nightt longgggg.

PS: The guy has a girlfriend, but I’m just saying that a lot of guys who don’t would still prefer to play SC2 over having a girlfriend.

Making a sandwich.

“Wait till I eat you… mmmmm nom nom nom.”
Img src: http://www.geeksugar.com/Cell-Phone-Rant-Guy-Making-Your-Food-Rude-One-2336574

Farfetched, but possibly for some guys, making a sandwich is more important than hanging around with a girlfriend.

And by sandwich, I really meant the food consisting of two slices of bread. Just sayin’ for those who are thinking otherwise…

Watching a game of football. Alone.

Ass grab, yours sincerely from miketsu blog – taken from the “Stumble Stumble” MV (D-NA)

Or possibly with a beer with a few friends. But generally, alone.

And generally quite close to the screen.

Hmmm.

Seriously, the idea is still ridiculous in my mind. We all have our own lives and we have plenty of shizz to do every single day. There are things we need to prioritise, and perhaps a relationship really isn’t one of them. But saying that you don’t even have time to go out and see your girlfriend maybe an hour once a week because you have “other things” to do (note the list above)…?

No wonder some guys remain single. :)

Posts coming up in the next week or so -

Sorry this is going to take a while to complete – especially the long awaited DO-NOT-BUY-FROM-THIS-PLACE review, but the list of items I’m going to review/ talk about will entail (over the next month or two, depending on how long the list will be):

  • SK II Skin Treatment Cleanser (well I think this is the name of it anyway)
  • Skinfood Wash-off Rice Mask (I possibly got the words around, but meh you know what I mean)
  • THEFACESHOP sheet masks
  • Aveeno Dry Skin Body Lotion
  • Shiseido Benefiance
  • And at least one mystery slimming product. ;) – perhaps 2, depending on what I feel like.
  • Something really awesome.
  • Etude House Easy Brow pencil (in comparison to Christian Dior eyebrow pencil)

I think that will suffice for now. I will have fun trying to think of how to review and photograph the above items over the course of the next month or so – for now, Monday will be my last “resting day” before I get cracking on my design work. I can’t work knowing I have at least a pimple on my forehead. I will feel too miserable to want to do anything.

In fact, I think I’ll review the SK II later today.

Once again this is a short post – sorry about that. I just really have nothing to talk about since I stayed at home all weekend lol.

Hopefully my next post is less grouchy (but then I guess you’ve all learned to not take me too seriously) ;) Until next time!

Mazel tov

On both Saturday and Sunday I met up with Ramille but on Sunday we were also accompanied by M and B!

Keep reading this entry for the “… and the weight is…”  section :)

Saturday

Lunch at Milliore, Capitol Square. Spicy Chicken (with rice) was what I ordered – lunch special at $9.90AUD. It was spicy even though there wasn’t a single chilli seed in sight D: Later on that night though I did not feel too good – I kinda overate (it was lunch at like 2:45pm) but on the upside, C and I learned how to play the pachinko machines up at Capitol.

I like how they blurred it for censorship purposes.
Img src: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pachinko (go here to read more about Pachinko).

I knew about pachinko machines ages ago back in high school and from watching Japanese drama, but I have no idea how they really work. In a sense it’s like a pinball machine but you can only control one knob (the one where the hand is on the photo). The pins don’t move. Once a ball goes into the right slot, the screen starts to move like a pokie machine and you need triple of the same thing to get a heck of a lot of bonus points and win something. Therefore the more balls that go inside the more chance you have of the pokie part getting a perfect match. A bit like how people play pokie machines just to wait until the computer gives them the jackpot, if you know what I mean.

A random passerby told me how to play the game and then it suddenly dawned on me how the system worked. I started off with 100 credits and somehow ended up with 180 at one stage – then it all went down from there on lol.

I got myself a Hello Kitty mat for $15!

I spend a ridiculous amount of time at my desk so currently I’m just using it for my desk. I’m thinking of putting it next to my bed so that I can stand near my table without getting cold, but I’ll think about it later.

To be honest I can’t really remember what we really did after that. We sort of browsed around and then that was about it. When I got home I started to feel sick from overeating lunch, so I skipped dinner.

Then I played Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam with R and B which you could read about here. I still cannot get over the fact that I was shooting B instead of helping him up. Apparently the keys did work – and he was getting up. Unfortunately I was lagging and couldn’t see it, so I panicked and then shot him repeatedly about 6 times OTL Failsauce is fail.

But I did kill ONE special zombie :D First time yo! I’ve never played first person dizzy look all over the place mouse control thingy game before :)

Sunday

Raining. Used the umbrella I got from Duchess at Melbourne Central :D Cuteness explosion! I felt really self conscious using it though - bright pink and covered with love hearts – hrmm. Maybe it wasn’t a good idea after all. As we stopped at the cinemas to wait for M a guy came up to us and was like “those umbrellas are cute aren’t they?” or something like that. We all got a bit creeped out (R had just left us to go buy something D: omona) and all we could do was say “yes, they are” and my generic response was “thank you~!” - then he left o.o

KOWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII T___T

For more information visit www.larenaissance.com.au

M bought R and I each a pack of assorted macarons :D Thanks! She went all the way to The Rocks just to get them. YUMMY D: <3 <3 <3

Well, we all had lunch at Poporo at Market City and I must say their Poporo salad is awesome XD The grilled chicken was really nice (crispy on the outside but oh so low in fat <3) – I also got a Green Tea Latte soft float and it came with an umbrella on top :D I would have taken a photo (it was really picture perfect indeed) but I thought that I’d look funny doing it, so I stopped lol.

We were supposed to go shooting! But it was raining and people just couldn’t make it out ;-;

Went to Paddy’s Markets (R got a new iPad – hohohoho jealous much people?? – and had to get a screen protector for it) and then went to Capitol.

There are some really rude people in the city these days! I guess that’s one thing I miss about Melbourne - less obnoxious people to some extent. We were standing outside Capitol on Saturday and as soon as these two guys started coming our way this guy started to sing and as he passed us he was like “that’s a nice bum”  or something like that – that is, until he noticed R standing there giving him a death glare. Then on Sunday this woman was like “tsk as if stand in the middle of the footpath!” – she didn’t even have the decency to say “excuse me” or perhaps walk around the other way. There was plenty of space. Footpath was about 4m wide yo – make your own way around! RUDE!

Played pachinko again. A guy at Capitol told us that he spent $15 just to win 2 capsules (one containing 20 points, the other with a small toy inside) and that was a waste of time. Indeed, it probably was a waste of time lol, but it’s really just a bit of fun and seeing how the machine works. Hey, at least I know how to play! I’m not good at it, but still, it was worth a try :) C got his two capsules for free! Lol, what a kind fellow :D That’s when we realised getting balls into the slot was useless unless the pokie part gave you the right combo. Sad!

And since we were at Capitol anyway we just sat down at Passionflower for dessert/ a snack. Next time if I go, I’m going for lunch.

I ordered the Eastern sunrise but for some reason it wasn’t available. I don’t know why it wasn’t – the girl told us no fresh strawberries or oranges but they could have easily substituted the orange with something else or left it out. I wasn’t too fussed, and instead she told me they had Western Sunrise which I said okay to but thoroughly regret ordering. Biggest waste of $14 :(

Picture perfect, but there’s a HUGE difference between sticky rice ball, taro and green tea icecream (or whatever it was on the Eastern Sunrise) and vanilla, strawberry and chocolate icecream. I really dislike chocolate, especially in big amounts like such. In fact, I didn’t even touch the entire ball of chocolate icecream much – I left about 95% of what they gave me melting on the plate as I left. The star shaped cone/ waffle bowl was innovative but it tasted like a subtly sweet version of Grain Waves but very flourey in the centre. Despite all that though, I do love vanilla icecream and the strawberry icecream was great. The bananas weren’t really that great, and I didn’t use the chocolate dipping sauce at all. It wasn’t a total disaster, but I guess I used my money on something I didn’t even want to eat.

And – I did it again – I ate too much. I got home and had to skip dinner once again. The upside was that my mum wanted to make curry puffs so I made them for her last night. I made 63 of them! I had an early night and that was my Sunday.

… and the weight is…

I did 3 hula hoop sessions only this week. I skipped it on a few days because I was out and about and felt I didn’t need to do that extra bit of exercise, or I was just tired and had no energy (it’s not a good idea to hoop when you’re skipping dinner yeah).

I feel like my legs are finally getting slimmer - I think my body is starting to realise that it’s time to move onto other bigger and better areas LOL YAY! \o/

I measured myself today – waist lost that 0.25″ – I’m now currently at 27″. For those who are curious as to how I measure I just measure it right around. I don’t do the belly button thing. That’s not my waist – that’s  BELOW my waist.

I measured my thighs and I lost an entire cm :’D My calves lost half a cm.

Stepped on the scales and was delighted to have lost 0.7kg – my BMI is now currently 20.5. BAH I lost almost a kg and the BMI only drops by 0.2 – but oh well, let’s see how long I keep this up for. I still have yet to enrol in dance classes and invest in a skipping rope. Damn!

But I do feel a lot better about myself. Tiny goals step by step – I’ll do it until I think the measurements look right and until my BMI maybe drops to about 19 (I decided that 18 is underweight and not good). Then I’ll make some plans to maintain the measurements and weight – realistic, yes? Hopefully my arms will decrease in size too – but I’ll do some weight lifting for that every now and then (I do it sometimes now even, I lift 5kg dumbells).

For those who have lost track on how long I’ve been doing this for, it’s been about 3 months only lol. I still haven’t reached my 5kg weight loss target, but it’s getting so close – I can almost touch it…

Again, the moral of the story is to not starve yourself. Look at all that icecream and the food I’ve been posting up. Not the healthiest to say the least, but I am still losing weight due to an active lifestyle – and by active I mean doing stuff to burn off more calories you are taking in. Keep it simple and keep it under control – don’t go nuts and change too many things at once.

I think that’s the end of this post for me. I’ll write about the Lifecella eye sheet masks next (unless something life-breakingly awesome happens in the next 24 hours I must blog about pops up). Cheerios!

My first online co-op gaming experience

I know next to nothing about games. The only games I’m good at are things like Bejeweled and Tetris. When I was a kid I was good at Street Fighter, but that was about it.

Games these days have progressed to be 3D, realistic, and not only that you can play online simultaneously amongst thousands, perhaps even millions of people at the same time, and most importantly with your friends, of course.

So, my friends play Left 4 Dead 2, which is a game about a zombie apocalypse. Basically 4 survivors kill as many zombies as they can and do what they need to get the hell out of wherever they are to the next place and yeah it goes on. Read about it through the wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_4_Dead_2

If I were designing the cover, I would have dipped the hand in flour-ey water and let it dry.  But now I realise the missing thumb. They should have had missing nails too. Just sayin’.
Img src: Wikipedia as linked above.

Well, the first bad thing about the game was that it took over 300MB of patch that I needed to download because STEAM IS ANNOYING.

Today I just got uncapped and this virtually means that – well, that’s almost 20% of my monthly data gone on the first day :( The upside is that I’m going out for the next few days (be it the city or to uni), so I can conserve quite a lot of bandwidth, but I hope these patches aren’t terribly often. If they are I’m just gonna download them all at uni via my laptop D: It sucks balls that a patch is that big – and I think all they did was just REMOVE something? Argh. Bad luck.

I was under the impression that I use the keys all entirely for movement, but it turns out when I move my mouse I change the perspective – in fact, most of the time I didn’t even know what I was looking at. I had trouble picking up things, I continually fell off ledges (I THOUGHT IT WASN’T POSSIBLE) – I even fell down a flight of stairs :\ The worst part was that I was always standing in that STUPID GREEN GOO which seems to creep up from BEHIND me so I couldn’t do much about it. In fact, I don’t even know most of the commands or shortcuts.

So yeah, my movement sucked. My plan to use a touch screen for aim also backfired because of said mouse movement that was required.

I PICKED UP A FRICKIN’ CROWBAR FIRST THING WHEN THE GAME STARTED – OMG – FAIL! And then I couldn’t put it down ;-; I couldn’t fit through the doorways because I just didn’t know how, and I was miles behind the boys :( In fact I didn’t even know that my microphone wasn’t working until I heard them saying I was tinkering with the settings D: GG.

I didn’t kill many zombies and I didn’t heal or help any of my teammates :( I was a bad, bad “team” mate. I seriously let the team down :(

I killed one special zombie though :D Whichever that one happened to be… I have no idea…

I also kept shooting my teammates because of bad aim, and it was just a complete mess because I had to be saved and helped all the time >_< Oh my God – I would NOT be able to survive a zombie apocalypse :\

Left 4 Dead 2 can be bought off Steam for $29.99USD, which is what I paid – not bad considering it retails for a lot more. And it’s there for life. But oh dear – I hope that I’m better at it next time – I was so slow. Did I do alright for a beginner/ first timer? I don’t know. I know I really sucked though lol.

Did I have fun? I did though! It was really tiresome because I just was lagging behind so badly, and I had so much to learn and catch up on, but it really was fun >_<

FINGERS CROSSED I GET THE HANG OF IT MIRACULOUSLY, WITH ZERO PRACTICE – see you all again online in maybe a week… or perhaps… never… cuz I suck… :S

PS: I play the censored version, because we all play at night and I want to be able to sleep in peace. Even though I’m not easily creeped out by scary movies and such, better being safe than sorry ;)

PPS: OMG I JUST REMEMBERED we failed the final stage like twice (succeeded third time) and instead of helping my teammate up by hitting “E” I somehow got confused with USING MY LEFT MOUSE CLICK so instead of helping him, I was continually shooting him – FAIL!

Mazel tov

I need a girl -  Taeyang

Lovely L found this video with the translations. I highly suggest you all watch the live version (it’s in my twitter anyway) – never have I wanted to learn how to dance so much in my life. If you feel the same way as me, watch the dance practice video – I’ll be watching it all day today and trying to digest as many of the moves as possible. But alas, I cannot dance.

M – when are we gonna enrol for dance lessons girl?! Let’s go in 2 weeks or something – yes/yes?! And I wish x 50000 they are teaching this dance too!

The lyrics are awesome. I’m not sure if it was a good idea for him to say “pretty body too” because that’s highly subjective but otherwise hands down, this is my favourite track off his entire album. I didn’t really enjoy the other songs as much. I like the “Just a feeling” track, but I didn’t really like the others all that much. “I need a girl” really touched me for sure because it says something about  Taeyang that is meaningful. I quite liked the reference to Se7en’s “Girls” in GD’s part to sort of lay out Se7en’s comeback later this year. At least I hope it was done intentionally for that reason lol, considering they’re all YG babies.

… and the weight is…

HA! Did you all think that this section disappeared? Well I stepped on the scales for the first time in 2 weeks and I was dreading it because if you’ve been reading through my very recent entries, what the heck was I eating?! Crepes, cream, custard, tarts – whoa whoa whoa – too much much. Oh and I polished half a donut, a packet of Red Rock deli sweet chilli and sour cream chips (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YUM x 10000) as well as many many butterfly cookies/biscuits, tim tams and curry puffs in the past week. Don’t forget the hazelnut Lindt hot chocolate and  the strawberry macaron too >_< I’ve been bad with my eating habits.

Also not to mention at the moment I am extremely bloated. Wasn’t too optimistic.

To my surprise I lost 0.5kg and my BMI is back at 20.7 which isn’t bad. I also measured my waist and I think I’ve lost another quarter of an inch. My thighs and calves have lost about half a cm too. Note that I seriously have not been hooping the past few days. I said I would, but I didn’t. Not only that I still haven’t gotten a skipping rope yet, but I’ll do it soon – I also need to go to Parramatta again soon because I ran out of Likas soap :\

On Friday when I went to hand in my portfolio I was having a talk with C and she asked whether or not I was on a diet because she noticed I slimmed down considerably in the past few months :S I suppose that’s a good thing? :D I feel that I look a lot better in the clothes I used to wear but stopped wearing (namely singlet tops). Also – have you ever been in a changeroom at Myer? I say Myer and not David Jones because Myer changerooms have like 2-3 mirrors so you can view yourself simultaneously at different views/ angles. I felt a lot better on Saturday in front of the changeroom mirrors. There was a time when I was 110% cringesauce at them.

Also minor thing – for Crown Casino I actually borrowed C‘s military jacket (the same one we have) but hers is a size smaller. I bought a size larger because I thought the smaller one was a bit too tight, but when I wore her jacket it wasn’t tight any more. I bought that jacket before I decided I wanted to lose weight too btw, so yay!

Cannot wait for my waist to hit 26″. I suppose that is my target for now :) I’m excited with the 27.25″ I have right now – the last time I measured around this size was when I was 16! But then again all my jeans hang by the waist… and I still don’t have a size that fits me snugly :(

Either way I’m going to take this weight loss thing slowly and I’m aiming to get my BMI just under 20. I want nice measurements so I’ll work towards those. Time is not an issue since now I feel I’m on track and normal again. Miracles don’t happen overnight and I’m doing pretty well considering I am eating almost everything I feel like eating.

I officially hate gaming

I tried to download and install Steam, it’s a piece of crap that takes forever to update the friggin platform – biggest waste of an hour of my life. Now I shall roll back my computer because it appears to have screwed something up. THANKS A LOT POS U_U

Hotel City

So, Playfish has had some undeniable success with “Restaurant City” on Facebook. Their latest “City” apart from Gangster City is “Hotel City”.

I realised this immediately – there is an unmistaken resemblance between “Hotel City” and “Home Inn”.

Hotel City

Home Inn – the image I used ages ages ago

I was so surprised that Playfish took the same background sort of graphic from Home Inn – though to their credit, Restaurant City has a similar graphic in their streetscape view -  not too sure what to think of it. I like the idea of having rooms as individual blocks that go together instead of dedicating an entire floor to a room (that idea is kinda freaky and reminds me of Oldboy – sort of), and there are restaurants, cleaning rooms, gyms and probably other things.

I know “Hotel City” is in its Beta stages, but it’s almost impossible to get enough coins to decorate anything properly. A small room is only $1/ person who stays, and the large one I have at the top is $3. Heck, using my gym only costs them $2 and only about 3-4 people use it at the same time. The hibernation bed (the funky looking machine in the top left room) costs like 8000 coins. It’s ridiculous.

“Hotel City” is also really damn boring because there’s nothing for me to do. I have no money to decorate (you can tell because I have like 100+ coins only) – and I can’t control the little people either. Unlike in “Home Inn”, I can clean up the rooms myself, or do the weird kissing thing to my customers and keep them happy (somewhat seedy, but it’s something to do, because it only happens once every 5 minutes and your friends might get to them first).

The last thing that pisses me off the most is my temporary workers are really ugly. The guy looking after my gym wears glasses and has a combover! Not that combovers and glasses aren’t sexy, but seriously :\ Also – I can’t hire my own staff. I have to post up an annoying notif on my wall feed asking people to click and be my staff member. WHAT A PAIN.

I seriously don’t find this game interesting or captivating. My attention span quickly ran out especially at the beginning with the stupid tutorial telling me to buy a 2500 coin white wall – I didn’t want a white wall! It was just a waste of 2500 coins. I know the tutorials are helpful and all, but I don’t appreciate having to waste my coins on something I don’t want just because of a tutorial, which I think should be optional, NOT compulsory to follow.

Long story short, I don’t have enough control in “Hotel City”, and I don’t have enough interaction with the game because it doesn’t allow me to. Even with Restaurant City at least I can feed my workers every now and then – with this, there’s nothing I can really do. Boringsauce.

Sorry to Hotel City fans, but I won’t be playing this one.

I had mad fun yesterday

I love meeting up with the Lovigans ;_; They are so fun to be with and we always have a good time (Borat would say “sexy time”, but I won’t tease you guys for now  XD).

The day started off with me taking a bus to the city and getting off the bus halfway because people were rudely starting to close in on me. Yeah, it was a girl, and it didn’t particularly matter, but I am particularly picky with people on the bus and personal space. I don’t like people standing so close to me on the bus, especially when there’s room for them to move away a bit. It’s a bit like “you can’t see that I’m only 30cm away?!” – so I got off. Actually it was my bad because I miscalculated and forgot there was another stop before the one I wanted off, but it was alright. I was supposed to wake up early for a morning jog 15minute on and off sprint (I have zero stamina, but I do like to just sweat it out – 15-30mins is all I can handle, anything longer than that, my face goes very red and I don’t think it’s healthy), but I slept in because I slept at yet another unGodly hour of I think 1:30 or 2am. Don’t ask me why I slept so late – there’s only one reason why and I guess you all can just guess.

Anyway, I met up with Ramille and their childhood friend from NZ, K, who happened to be an engineer – *smiles* – as you call know (even he did lol), architects and engineers don’t particularly get along well with each other :P But he was cool – and he wasn’t a civil engineer either LOL – that made things a lot less awkward o_o

Went to grab computer parts for K and well yeah – went to Poporo for lunch where I ordered a Basa Fillet set – which btw, is really good. For ten dorra (WHICH I DID/ COULD NOT PAY BECAUSE R ALWAYS SNEAKS THE MONEY BACK >_>) it was a really good bento set. And if you’re wondering, Basa is a fish lol.

Oh and before lunch we saw this guy typing on a projected keyboard with his computer monitor being his sunglasses. FAR OUT. According to R that technology costs about $25 000! I don’t know what they’re called, but it was really really cool D:

We saw the crowds at Market City waiting for Joey Yung’s autograph signing session. All 3 levels were filled with people along the balustrades on the edge of the atrium excitedly waiting for her to appear. I can’t post photos of it (sorry I even took the photos at all – they won’t surface and it won’t happen again) because there’s a sign outside of Market City that doesn’t allow video or photography. Before we went to lunch maybe about 30 fans were waiting in the central area waiting for her. Then it turned into about 60, possibly 80 in the centre. Some had flower bouquets and about 1 in every 10 people held a “JOEY” sign (written in Chinese of course). The MC had to suffer with a bad microphone and sound system, and even when we left, we didn’t get a glimpse of her. Oh well.

SOURCE   .   WIKIPEDIA

She’s a really popular singer (sort of turned actress at some times) in Hong Kong. She’s quite a successful and well liked idol – her image is of a sexy kind and it started a few years ago when she started to I think campaign for a gym (?) – wait wiki said it was a slimming parlour – and lost quite some weight. Anyway, that’s that.

We went to TGV and then to the little secret store. Hmmm – Ramille then dropped K home and he lives in quite a neat little area really. Incredibly quiet and quite nice. I’ve lived in an older walk up flat before and his one was quite cosy. I’ve been in some really bad ones. Might just be my area :\

Back to the city we went and we watched R do some serious DDR – HE IS THE MAN D: Proness! Heavy mode, spins, and even can do the double mat in single mode. Crazy! I can chuckle and laugh if I can even get the half beat steps and pass 6 feet (I can only do 5 at most) in Standard mode. L also came from after finishing work, and we then had 3 games of basketball. Galaxy World basketball is quite awful, really. The balls aren’t heavy and the game is short. I guess it’s got to do with it being for kids. Oh yeah, and they steel meshed the top so if you throw it too high, it goes  nowhere. Sucks.

L then also came ~ and we had dinner at Takeru. Nom nom nom – soft shell crab salad! I generally hate salads because people can’t make the leaves not taste bitter, but yeah – awesome stuff. I finished the entire salad. That’s for my healthy dinner (though the crab was deep fried ._.)

Yummy. It was such a wholesome salad, much better than the one I got at Mizuya, which was mostly just crab leg.

We talked about colour filters for camera flashes – and I have been thinking about them. I’m wondering if I should just get the Holga ones (since they come in a set) or to make my own. I’m not too sure where or what I should buy. Either way I’ll be thinking about it later – money running low x_x

Went to Prize Paradise later (with the intention of going to AKA for Palty, but they closed at like 10 :( ) – failed at basketball miserably (well after 2 games of DDR and 3 games of basketball, plus a load of other random crap I’ve been doing, meh meh), failed to get any toys – though Ramille were crazy! They won like, 10?! Insanity.

We then went home and had an awesome talk about random stuff. FUN TIMES <3

And here’s the damage done – sorry I couldn’t really recount the day in a really nice and linear way – I just don’t want to go into detail about every single little thing or else I’d BORE you all.

If you’re wondering why I’m not watermarking stuff, it’s because I probably feel there’s no need to. I will do it when I feel like it’s necessary ;)

1. Free tissue box from Orange IT, Capitol. I ran out of tissues so this is awesomesauce – in return I am advertising for them here lol. I know nothing about their products or anything.

2. Karate Domo – I had no luck winning a mini paw (why I wanted it is beyond me) but putting in just a dollar for this, I managed to get it. The claw didn’t release it at all, and YAY!

3. (Under Domo) – a harddrive R donated to me filled with movies until I get myself a proper harddrive XD Thank you! Seriously, if you guys ever want/ need it back, let me know – I’ve blinged it up nicely, you will love it!

4. Blinging stickers from Morning Glory – the purple ones for the harddrive, and the blue/ white ones for my audio enabled headset for my computing course (because I want to be gangster and have some blinging headphones) – one interesting thing to note is that the price on the back of the smaller packet is about $8AUD, but I bought it for just $4.95. I’m starting to really like Morning Glory now because they’ve improved their stores by colour coding stuff, they’re having generous sales, and they’re also lowering their prices. I remember when I was in high school, Morning Glory was mad expensive – now everything is really quite reasonably priced I’m really surprised. It’s actually cheaper to probably buy from Morning Glory than from Korea. That’s something for you all to think about!

5. (Under everything) – Korean Hula Hoop from Morning Glory – it was going at 50% off so I only paid $15 for it! Comes in a case and the case with a handle. It’s purple and white, which I think is quite nice – I tried this out today and I instantly could feel a difference in my waist. After an hour I can still feel this cool tingly sensation. By the way, I only hula’d for about 5 minutes total (I can only do like 5 revolutions and it’d drop to the floor) – that’s how long you’re supposed to use for the first time. It make my skin red and blotchy, and it hurts, but I think this will work quite nicely. I also had to stop because I can’t really spin the hula hoop well enough – it drops to the ground and as it does so, it bashes into the side of my leg (same spot too), so I’ll be expecting some bruises along my legs :\ I’m not really looking for a waist – I want a flat stomach. But this does make you warm and slightly sweaty – nowhere as much as normal exercise though. Maybe if you did this for about 15 minutes, but yeah – that’s for a bit later. I’ll be doing about 5-10 minutes of hula hooping daily now, and on top of that I’m going to walk to uni and preferably back home.

There’s no way I’m going to run from uni back – I wasn’t wearing the right gear on Friday evening and it was gross. Never trying that again.

Anyway, I stayed up until like 1:30am to bling the harddrive. It was actually really difficult though it was made easy since the whole thing was already aligned and stuff, but it was just rhinestones on a bit of double sided sticky tape. I had to cut out every single row, attempt to line it up, and I did the hearts myself – I was lucky that I calculated it quickly and correctly (hey for almost midnight, I was thinking pretty clearly) and they look like hearts :D YAY! I even blinged up the USB part so I know which one to plug in hehehe. I could have done more, but I only have several rows of rhinestones left. I want to keep some in excess in case if some of the rhinestones fall off. A few of them are coming off the sticky tape, which is why they aren’t really shiny (they look like dead pixels), so I can replace them if they come loose.

Anyway, that is my past 2 days :) My next post will be about blinging my headset hehehe. I have to cut every single one out I think. Let me think this over first.

Until next blog!

PS: I will be cutting my nails this week. My cuticles are screaming for me to do so.

PPS: Will I bling everything I have? No. I only will bling things I think that are boring or aren’t so pretty. For example, if I bought something I thought was pretty on its own, I wouldn’t bling it – if that makes sense. My audio headphones are by a company named LASER which isn’t too attractive. I will be blinging over that.

PPPS: I realised my entire post consists of purple. FRUSTRATION? Perhaps – but no, it’s because it’s an awesome colour XD

Home Inn- more jewels, your prayers have been answered

Another search I keep getting is how to get jewels on Home Inn.

I logged in and found this:

This is my friend’s lobby, because I already fed my people so there were no drumsticks to screen capture OTLL

You just need to cook something for them if you see a chicken drumstick hovering over their heads. I clicked on the kitchen, made some bread, and I got an award of 2 jewels. Pretty neat – EDIT/ seems like I could only get 2 jewels the first time just by cooking, but I’m not sure about in the future (maybe if you unlock more?) – just gotta play and see.

The Lucky Day roulette is still there – it has been moved to the right of the lobby.

Fun day!

The day started off with R sending me a message (which I replied!!111one) and me wanting to go get the “cloth cleaner” for my sunglasses.

Turns out that the soft case is the cloth cleaner. As I said before, we suspected that was the case, but it didn’t hurt to double check I suppose.

R and C were visiting L at work and then we went to check out other places – namely market city and had lunch at  Poporo.

Hmmm Thomas Sabo is expensive lol. But definitely better than Pandora. The DVD store was lame too – the Chinese drama I wanted didn’t have subtitles?? WHAT?! I’m not even sure if that’s the case, but I’m not too surprised since the last drama that guy directed also didn’t have subs. Without subs it’ll be a nightmare to watch. I mean, with good acting and shizz we get the gist of it – in fact I know the story inside out already but still I reckon the main guy is fugly. I’d want to concentrate on the subs instead of his face. RAWR. So no DVDs for me and off I go tomorrow to get me some. Mmm no Hong Gil Dong either :( Sucks Yuna balls.

I got a Konad nail stamping kit from the lovelies for Christmas <3 Thank youuuuuu <3 ^3^

Sorry for the blurry photo – macro is hard when I’m trying to get something very close up. But the results were PERFECT.

I tried it, and got it to work! I can’t really write a review for it yet since it was just my first go-ish sort of thing, but it was SUPER easy to use (haha yeah, wait till I try it with my left hand) and there are some tricks – but basically you just gotta work fast. My only beef with this kit at the moment is that while you get perfect results, it seems that the nail polish DISSOLVES when you put on the top coat or any other top coat of nail polish D: I don’t know why, but I was sad watching my newly stamped design fade :( I tried using less top coat on another nail and I think it didn’t fade the stamp, but I don’t actually know if I put enough top coat on (if any at all) or if I waited long enough to determine that I was correct.

But the results are reallllly beautiful. Even cows would be jealous ;)

We waited for the “nothing over $50″ shop to open. Actually uh, excuse me while I say something dumb, but there WERE things over $50 lololol. The shoes at the front I think still had price tags on them for $80 a pair??? False advertising. I dunno, it looked really good from the outside! So many people were trying to get in, it was so funny! Anyway, we waited for them and got some yoghurt from Azuma while we waited (then we went to Maruya and then came back to find it open).

Camille’s very fine and excellent plain yoghurt with yummy strawberries on top – I suck! I should have gotten this for the strawberries!

My Green Tea yoghurt ice cream – sounds quite exotic, right? (:P NB my tone is sarcastic and purposefully over the top FYI)

What does it taste like? Yoghurt. Lol. So it’s a bit sour, but you can taste the green tea. Because it’s ice cream, it melts. Quite nice, I’d get it again. I think it’s probably better value than other yoghurts out there (this was $6 eat in), but there was a LOT. Also considering I didn’t get my calcium today, this was a must eat lol.

We went to Maruya and picked up some stuff. I decided to pick up some nail polish since it’s inevitable I will need to glam up my nails for whatever purpose. Instead of using the nail stamping kit for my nails (not really feeling like black or blue, and the dissolving stamp kind of confuses me), I decided to do a nail design using 3 of my newly bought polishes. They go on quite smoothly, but like all cheaper nail polish, it takes forever to dry. Maybe it’s just standard drying time, but I’m realllly impatient when it comes to nails (I type all the time and I’m really not good with sitting with my hands still – especially if I’m at my computer), so I really bow down to C’s nail skills. How she could get her peppermint stripes so steady is beyond me ;-; it seriously looks like she used a ruler!

Anyway, for $2.50 a nail polish, they aren’t bad. They just need to be applied thinly (where applicable) and allow plenty of time to dry between layers. The end result should be quite decent. The bottle I’m really spazzing over at the moment is a bottle of clear polish with different sized chunks of glitter. It’s the PERFECT thing to use for faux gradients and it makes my nails look like a million bucks – no kidding, I feel like I’m looking at a set of those awesome Japanese jewel encrusted nail designs. Sheeeet it would pass off as one of those nail designs you’d see in a Japanese magazine spread. The photos do it no justice. I need a man. Or a boyfriend. I JUST NEED TO SHOW THESE OFF TO HIM. I’ll meet up with a friend for a drink. I WANT TO SHOW THESE OFF SO BADLY. I WANNA SHOW OFF LALALA SHOW OFF RAWR.

Pink pearl base, forest green tips, generously slathered with glitter chunks.
Actually I’ve done all ten nails now, but I’m putting this photo up because (1) it’s a good photo (2) it’s now night time and the lighting is very dodgy

Hahahaha just kidding :3

But yes,  chunky glitter = amazing. Takes a long time to dry (maybe 20 minutes? It’s been about an hour and it’s still not 100% dry – it’s like soggy atm… hope it hardens soon. But I don’t “spread” it like normal polish, I dab it and pack it on thick where I want the glitter). It’s probably going to be a nightmare to remove, but if I keep applying a top coat each day, I can probably be able to peel off the entire design eventually lololol.

C and I then went clothes shopping at arcades and boutiques. There were suchhhh lovely dresses and hawt items (you’d be surprised at the sheer variety) but they were all soooo expensive! I keep thinking about the profit margins. I mean, $135 for a dress that is cute – yeah, that’s great, but the most I’d wear it is maybe 10 times over maybe 5 years? You can’t wear the same dress out each time you go out with friends, so to me that’s a pretty hefty price tag for a one off “I’m gonna impress you with what I wear” thing (and don’t deny it, most people will buy dresses to wear once and to impress – rarely will you be able to find a dress you can recycle. So far I have one I keep wearing, but I make sure that when I do wear it, it looks different, or the same people won’t be around to see it. Sad.)

I think I might just put in a quick Yoco order. Whether or not they fit or whatever I’ll leave up until later. I could just “sell” them away to friends at however much they cost from wholesale… which is probably like what, $13AUD?! I sent them a question about the labels (we saw a Yoco labelled dress!) so I’ll be waiting for their reply. I should get one tomorrow.

But anyway, we saw the cute heart heels for like $40! (after discount) Tempted to think that I may want to go back and get them, but I don’t know! How often will I wear those heels??? How often do I wear heels full stop?! I love my zipia boots but I never can wear them since I do so much walking when I’m out at the city. I can only wear them just to go out and then come home straight away. I could put the $40 to better use I suppose. I need to replace my flats :( But $50 a pair or whatever… that’s what I used to pay… but I dunno, I don’t think they’re worth it and plus I am quite short on cash. All the cash I have left to burn for this holidays would just be Yoco and that’s it I suppose. By then I should have a few original pieces to go out in, and then that’s all good. Also, knowing M, another zipia order will be on the way soon :P So yeah :P

Speaking of zipia, I saw my top at a store for sale.

Photo cr: LK Photography (LAMAHKUN@TUMBLR.COM) It’s so obvious I’m the one with the scratched out face.

As you can see, the top is fairly simple. Zippers on both shoulders (you can unzip, and it’s meant to show your shoulders/ hang off your shoulders – I keep wearing it for shoots for that purpose but I never unzipped it because the top originally has funny proportions [very big top part, and the rest is snug fitting] and it doesn’t zip in a way that the sleeve hangs off – if you know what I mean). I bought it from Zipia because the stock photo was soooo sexy. It’s actually meant to be a dress, but when I got it, it just barely covers my butt. No, it’s not a dress, it’s just a top that is slightly longer than usual. But not a dress. Well, maybe if I was shorter, but yeah. No. :P

I don’t really like the top that much. But the quality is okay (the right side already has piles on it from I suspect the evil LV bag) – well, exceptional. It comes with a label, the stitching is immaculate and the fabric is beautiful. But design-wise? Not the best, but I like it alright for a casual outing sort of top. Not something you’d wear to an exhibition, but something edgy just with the zippers.

I paid something like $20USD for it (convert it and add shipping maybe about $27AUD?). It just fell into the “good yet not overpriced” category in my books.

At the shop they were selling it for $135 AUD.

Excuse me while I go mildly insane. People, DO NOT BUY IT FOR $135AUD! I bet when it gets discounted to about $40-$80 on sale, someone will eventually buy it, but seriously, WTF? Like I said, it’s a nice top, and I paid about $27 for it – I’m quite pleased with it, but I’m not THAT excited to the point that when I wear it I think it feels like 135 bucks. It feels good quality, but BLEH NOT A HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE BUCKS.

But anyway the place selling the Yoco stuff was quite reasonable since they were on sale. We still needed to go to Egoist but we forgot! It’s closing down! I never went back after the $600 skirt. That scared me too much to ever want to return. Also the clothes were sooo tiny it made me feel massively fat ;-; They have a lot of goodies in there, also overpriced. I wonder how they will price their stuff considering they are closing down. They have a LOT of stuff in there including cute shoes. I might go back on Tuesday. Hmm.

But anyway, all the boutiques seemed to be on sale one way or another (it’s Christmas!) but everything is ridiculously overpriced. I wish that Yoco had more stuff on it – that way I could find some more unique pieces. Blah.

Anyway, I shall end this post with my LOL of the day. I am such a geek.

I didn’t sell anything or anything like that to get this number – I just realised as I was about to sell some tomatoes (to buy tomato seeds), that the number of tomatoes I had was 1337.

LEET!

I am such a dork <3

Until next post!
